Though I find the phrasing of “his Hellborns” interesting. At first, I’m sure many would think this refers to the Ars Goetia- he created them, so they would be “his.” But why excuse all Hellborns from Extermination then? Just to appease the Sins?

I don’t think so. Lucifer hates Sinners, but in his hearts of hearts he’s not a bad guy. Not to mention, he is the Sin of Pride. Whether he likes it or not, his actions created Hell, which I theorize created the Sins, who in turn created all the other Hellborn demons. Perhaps he sees- the people at least, probably not the realm of Hell itself since it’s his prison- every single one of them as his own creations, or an extension of his creations. As a result, he cares about all of them and sees them as “his.”

(Perhaps it’s easier to not care- or to convince himself he doesn’t care- about Sinners/humanity as a whole because he wasn’t allowed to help create them. He loves Lilith, and maybe once upon a time he learned to care about humanity through her. That’s why he gave Eve the Fruit of Knowledge- to give humanity Free Will and freedom. And we all know how that ended.)

Which brings me to Lilith, her empowering the sinners does not make any sense if her own husband couldn’t hurt them. It would feel like a betrayal unless they thought the sinners couldn’t hurt him either. Which him allowing the extermination makes sense if her empowerment got out of hand and both of them couldn’t control the sinners. They are severely outnumbered, and Lucifer the most powerful being there cannot hurt them. So why even try to care for them to begin with. They are Adam’s descendants, so why even try?

It is a _beautiful_ takedown of the prison industrial complex, modern day (for the 1990’s) racism, and the racism of the segregation era, and the power of a force that’s I will call “fate”. All wrapped up in the improbable story of two young impoverished teenage boys of color, and their semi-fantastical escape from the prison camp they’re made to work for after a pair of totally-not-Air-Jordan’s is stolen and one of the boys accidentally framed.

I headcanon they originally belonged to Lucifer, since the Devil is usual depicted with a trident or pitchfork. (I imagine he’s had to do some fighting over the years- not against Sinners, but Hellborn or the Sins if they got rowdy or some Eldritch horror from beyond the veil.)

However, when Charlie was old enough he gave them to her because he didn’t really use them anymore and he wanted her to be able to protect herself if she needed to (since she doesn’t seem to like using her magic combatively).

And he also might have given her the shield so she could move around, since she’s apparently able to fly on it like she’s the Silver Surfer or something.

And now I want someone to draw Lucifer sitting on his Hell throne, holding the trident in one hand and a baby Charlie in the other, with a smug expression on his face and Lilith standing next to him on the right holding the shield. It could be a portrait in their house.

Aldo enters desperately To dad's room because he doesn't answer the phone, much less make any appearances all day. He thinks he's sick, hurt, or kidnapped, and above all, Thomas doesn't even answer him on WhatsApp; he knows he's an old man with no experience with technology. Although he knows where the button to answer a call is.

If he had hair, he'd be pulling it out strand by strand because of all the stress he's under." And finally, what are you doing dressed like that?! And what do you have on your face?

"Good night, friend." Thomas places his book on his thighs. "Are you talking about my pajamas?"

"And the slippers."

"I had to match it, His Holiness bought it for me at a stall from a lady who came on sale."

"And on your face? It looks like you glued your face to the moss on the walls."

"His Holiness prepared an avocado mask for me, he says it's good for my face."

At one point, Vicent appears in the room wearing the same pajamas as Thomas, but in green and accompanied by turtle slippers.

"Hello, my dear Aldo! Good evening! What's with that face? Did Tedesco say something inappropriate again?" Vicent, with his warm speech, approached Aldo." Do you like my pajamas? I bought some for Thomas because he sleeps in pajamas that look like Dracula. They're missing some color! Isn't that so my dear Thomas?"

"Yes, yes, your holiness...I mean, Vincent," he replied, only to resume his interrupted reading.

If Aldo had to define Thomas, he would compare him to a police dog who, after years of service, retires to be adopted by an elderly person or someone who loves animals. Keeping him like a spoiled Chihuahua, tame and looking for affection. Yes, Thomas is definitely a Chihuahua now. Or better yet, a Golden Retriever.

"Your Holiness, I've been looking for you all day. There are papers to sign. Tomorrow you have a meeting with the President of the United States. You have some things to sign, and..."

"Aldo, Aldo, relax. Thomas already took care of all that. Just try to rest, you're working really hard. And I don't want the next thing to fall off your skull." Vicent squeezed Aldo's shoulders in an attempt to relax him and comfort him." Now, prepare the rice mask. Do you want to join us for this spa night, Aldo?"

Aldo looked from Vicent with his sweet smile to Thomas, who was sitting on the bed as if he were a little boy waiting for his mother. No, he definitely doesn't want to stay in that room, the tension between these two old men can be felt for miles around.

"Your Holiness, please excuse me for not being able to join you tonight. I prefer to go to sleep in my room and try to relax."

"Oh, okay Aldo, rest and if you want take tomorrow as your day off, okay?" Vicent took the papers from Aldo's arms and left them on his nightstand. Aldo just nodded, and like a lost soul who saw the devil, he hurried out.

Outside the room, Vincent can be heard telling Thomas about the properties of the rice mask. Thomas simply says: "Yes, of course," "Whatever you say, my dear Vicent," "You're absolutely right."

I have seen Lawrence be an angel or even a demon, but my snapping turtle Vincent who can hold his own is treated like a little lamb.

My man was in war zones, my man build shelters, my man protected and care.

I want sleeper build Vincent(he was called wiry by Thomas in the book), who had to make shelters with his own hands because his missions did not receive enough contributions from the church.

I want to see him heal people without knowing and the people realizing they were in a presence of an angel/saint. The nuns realize he is not like other priests, who just speaks but not contributes, he is a man of action. Oh, I couldn’t get some furniture, let me read the Bible real quick, I know there’s instructions for a table there.

I want women and men falling for him because he is handsome and a contributor. And he is simply oblivious to all of it. I want him adopting children and caring for them as his own because he could never have any due to his oath.

And he would make a very competent manager too, you learn to budget in war zones, or even in places with lack of funds. You learn to make deals, or even trade favors.

I know many of us love the horizontal tango, but I really wish there more things like this. I know, I know, I can write it myself, but I lack the skill necessary to even express any of this in detail.
