Scammers and Fanfics
is any one else getting these annoying messages of this:
I mean is you really like my story that much you can just draw it for fun. I’ve been getting these scam messages like crazy. I mean, has anybody else been getting me cause it’s just kind of sad really cause I’m like is there really anybody reading what I’m writing or is it just a whole bunch of scanners but just want my money for some art that most likely ai generated. I really want some art of my book. I would just do it myself or I would hire a professional illustrator.
Oh, that’s the worst. And it’s not just WattPad, Fanfiction dot net is also riddled with AI Bot accounts leaving reviews asking writers to commission them make art based on their fanfics. It pisses me off to no end. My advice? You should move your fanfic to Archive of Our Own, and make sure to set your “allow comments from” setting to “Regestered Users Only”. Speaking from experience, it makes a huge difference.
