Love you guys!! Iām about halfway done uploading my old fics so thereās still plenty to come.
āItās just, when we started this . . . whatever this is,ā Lucy gestures vaguely between them (Lockwoodās trying not to laugh again, because of course he finds this funny), āI figured there would be complications.ā
āIām really hoping youāre planning on elaborating on that, for my sake,ā Lockwood says, taking another bite of toast.
āHereās the thing, Lockwood,ā Lucy says. āI can deal with you usually being right. I can deal with you running headfirst into every dangerous situation you possibly can. For some reason, I can even deal with you unfairly being blessed with looks and charm.ā
āFor a list of complications, those sound suspiciously like compliments,ā Lockwood says carefully.
āWell, they would, to you,ā Lucy grumbles, though she knows the smile fighting to spread across her face completely negates her tone.
Heads up, Iām posting all my one shots on AO3, along with some new content found deep in my drafts. You all have been so incredibly kind to me so wanted to give you a thank you.

l&co really said choosing to live for someone is sometimes just as brave as choosing to die for them because both can be scary as fuck but it's worth it if it's for someone you love and who loves you
i can see this really resonated with you all
Iāve just finished the series Lockwood & Co on Netflix and I am OBSESSED you donāt even understand šš are the books worth the read? Iāll be real the only thing keeping me locked onto it is Lockyle, literally my fave ship of all time now. Do the books have Lockyle too or was that added by the tv series??
The books are 100% worth the read. Best books I have ever read if I am being honest, they are just that good.
Locklyle is an undercurrent of the entire series. Their relationship is not the focus of the books necessarily, but itās always somehow part of the narrative. I donāt want to spoil too much but the Locklyle content in the books is to die for. Itās different than the show for sure, because the books focus only on Lucyās perspective and sheās the very definition of an unreliable narrator, but their relationship is the heart of the story in so many ways.
If your sole interest in the books is Locklyle I donāt think youāre going to be disappointed, just be prepared for a slower burn. Itās worth it though.
Friends. If you do nothing else this week, please. Please stream Lockwood and Co as much as you can. The completed viewing hours matter so much and this story deserves a season two. The fandom has grown exponentially in the last three weeks, people are loving the show and finding the books. It has more than earned that renewal but Netflix needs the numbers to authorize it.
Letās give them no choice.
The lockwood and co tag is full of posts about people finishing the show and finding the books to read and Iām just so emotional about that you guys, welcome to the greatest fandom on the internet, we are so glad youāre here but also
These books are so good. Literally the best thing to come out of this Netflix adaptation is that more people know and will know about Lockwood & Co because it really is the best series and it deserves the attention so much.

At some point in the next few weeks I am going to sit down and note every single moment of foreshadowing in the show because they went hard with the references to later books and if you havenāt read them you wouldnāt have any idea they were setting something up for later. I donāt know how they managed to be so heavy handed while not giving themselves away but they did it.
For anyone interested in avoiding book spoilers on my posts Iām going to be using #lockwood and co spoilers and #l&co book spoilers as my tags
Bless Joe Cornish, the writers, and Complete Fiction for looking at the books, thinking āhuh, these kids are just always holding hands arenāt they?ā and then just running with that full speed ahead. They were right and we were fed so well.
locklyle + hands
The only other thing I wasnāt fully on board with was how serious our skull was. They definitely leaned into the sinister side of him, and brought in the manic energy from time to time, but Skully is so sassy you guys, and I miss how giddy he got whenever Lucyās life was in danger.
If we get a second season, I hope they set our skull free and let him sass to his heartās content. Also his high low-key jealousy of and disdain for Lockwood is so important.
The biggest and maybe only thing I would change about this adaptation is episode three. Thereās several minutes spent on Lucy in a towel sneaking around to steal Annieās source again, and Iād cut that altogether. Weāve seen her do this already, we know sheās got a track record and is borderline obsessed with Annie, so cut out her stealing the keys to steal the source again.
Instead, spend more time on the Screaming Staircase. Make it actually scream. You can leave the chanting in over top but that staircase was traumatic for everyone, not just Lucy, it took the whole team out of commission. Put the time into really hitting how impactful and psychically traumatizing that staircase was.
Then, later, when Lockwoodās telling Fairfax they donāt have the source with them have Lucy just pull it out again. Georgeās horrified āshe stole it againā is explanation enough. You could even flashback to brief snippets of her pulling the keys out of Lockwoodās coat and grabbing the silver glass case if you want.
Iām not going to spend much more time on things Iād change because I am honestly so pleased but this was maybe the only thing Iād have liked to see different.

What was the weird manic Kipps asking Lucy out though
I figured out why the shove on the Thames riverbank hits so hard: this is EG spoilers but it has the exact same energy as the finale of the La Belle Dame haunt. Lucy throwing herself off of something stupidly high up to save Lockwoodās life and having her fear and anger manifest so strongly once theyāre safe again that she slaps him
