due to personal reasons i’m Ronaldo

just realized Ronaldo is kinda responsible for saving the Crystal Gems… if he hadn’t gotten obsessed with using the telescope, and wasn’t super annoying, he wouldn’t have spotted Lapis on the moon and warned Steven, and Steven wouldn’t have gone there, and wouldn’t have seen the vision of Pearl killing Pink Diamond, and wouldn’t have asked Pearl about it in time, and thus wouldn’t have known he was Pink Diamond by the time the Diamonds arrived, and thus would not have been able to stop them the way he did, and the Crystal Gems might have gotten crushed, and the Cluster might have been forced out of the earth after all. In a way Ronaldo saved the earth. God I fucking hate Ronaldo though….

i hate the way fat antagonists have their weight moralized and used as a metaphor for greed and corruption and i hate the way it's overcorrected into fat people being "soft squishy friend-shaped cupcakes who look like they give incredible hugs" and i long for the day we have nuanced, interesting, and complicated fat characters and most of all i long for the day people are normal about fatness

"if Jax is a trans woman she's still an abuser so she's bad representation so the show is transphobic" you're an idiot. you want your blorbos to be perfect ideal angels, I want my blorbos to be realistic, nuanced, flawed human beings, we are not the same. I LIKE that she's messy and fucked up and problematic, I think it's a realistic depiction of how a lot of repressed and traumatized trans women are. I think the show goes to great lengths to explore how and why she is the way she is, and to evoke sympathy for this kind of person. it doesn't excuse her actions but it does make them understandable. and I think the fact women like that deserve sympathy is an idea worth stating and worth shouting. yes she's a bully and she hurt everyone around her and that may never change. she still deserves sympathy.
