Why are you so dismissive of the transmascs telling you that they are uncomfortable with the way the transfems that abused them were treated thereafter?
victims feeling like they need to protect their abusers because they are also marginalized is a known, well-documented phenomenon. it says a lot about a survivor’s character that they are still considering the feelings and comfort of someone who didn't give a damn about them, but let’s be real: it’s not a healthy thing. it doesn't exist in a vacuum, and it’s exactly why people don't talk about these things in the first place, because they don't want to feel like they’re "betraying" their own community or feeding into some wider narrative.
if you think documenting abuse is the same thing as being dismissive of a survivor's feelings, you’re missing the point. the system that makes victims feel like they have to put their abuser’s reputation above their own safety is the system that needs to be torn down. i’m here for the survivors who have realized that protecting their abuser is only hurting themselves.
this is one of the worst things transmascvoicesproject has posted. "listening to survivors" goes right out the window when a survivor disagree with her. she cracks out the condescension and the infantilization to act like she knows better than any poor little ~misguided~ transmasc survivor who disagrees with what she's doing

the voice of a survivor truly does not matter to her, she only cares about survivors insofar as they can be used as props in her hate campaign. this is a pattern of behavior, with her offering snappy "comebacks" to survivors who share their stories as part of well-reasoned, level-headed criticisms of this blog. survivors who agree get fawned over, survivors who don't agree get made fun of
this is not a survivor-centered project. it's a blog that centers and fixates on a specific narrative about marginalized abusers. the survivors are treated as side characters in this narrative, and if they don't fit the mod's narrative, she considers them fair game for condescension and mockery
if there's any silver lining to this vile blog's existence, it's that it's shown me just how many transmascs are willing to stand against such disgusting transmisogyny. it's restored quite a lot of my faith in my brothers to see so many of you speaking against this blog

several of the survivors who have had their stories used by this project discuss in their stories that they have complex feelings about coming forward because they don't want to contribute to the stereotype that all trans women are predators. they discuss not wanting others to use their stories to justify discrimination against trans women
that is to say, the stereotyping of trans women as predators makes it harder for survivors to come forward. a number of them discuss wanting their abuser to be understood as an individual who harmed them, not as a representative of their entire demographic
what do we think? will a project dedicated to documenting exclusively abuse by transfems help change the problem that makes these survivors hesitant to come forward?
one survivor shared her story only as part of a criticism of what this blog is doing, and the mod posted it as part of the "project"
in the replies the survivor says that the mod is speaking over her and is the type of person who made her healing more difficult. do we think that the mod cares about survivors? do we think that the mod thinks of them as anything besides props to harvest stories from to further their dangerous, bigoted, transmisogynistic project?
I decided with my therapist that I really really need a break from all of this--activism in general. I am going to try my best to step away for some time
but please, if you can spare some time or energy to, keep the pressure on. do not let this "project" get anywhere off the ground

Like huh, what a novel idea to claim that it's actually the targeted minority group doing all of the violence against itself, that way you're both claiming they're the most violent AND you can disregard any of their experiences since 'they just do it to themselves you see'. We've definitely never seen that one used in like, I dunno, claims of violent black men or anything.
