AU where spider develops bipolar 1, inherited from quaritch. he’s living with the metkayina when the symptoms become noticeable, to the point where spider goes through a manic episode.
jake is obviously the first to notice that something abnormal is going on in his brain and when his episode breaks out, jake is forced to call norm and max.
after hours of testing, they conclude that spider has bipolar disorder. this being a new concept to the rest of the sully’s and also the metkayina people, everyone in his corner learns to adapt and gains a new understanding.
(might write a short fic on this)
i hope that avatar 4 gives spider a little more agency. i feel like for the amount of screen time he gets, we never get to see his pov. or when something happens to him, it’s so quickly brushed off and never mentioned again. can this boy please express his emotions for once? i’m tired.
kiri, lo’ak, and spider are not seen as a trio as much as they should be. they were stuck together like glue for half of the movie, they shouldn’t be this underrated.
question, are OC’s a deal breaker for people? i’m currently writing a new spider-centric fic that introduces two OC’s, however i’m not making them completely detrimental to the plot. they’re introduced in the beginning and then stay off for a little bit, but i am planning something for them that will affect spider.
but i know a lot of people hate OC’s and will not touch a fic if there’s any at all. i just want a general opinion tbh because i also tend to dislike OC’s, but occasionally i’ll change my mind if i like what they’re adding for the plot.

The people who hate Spider for saving Quaritch need to stop acting like Spider leaving him to die would have made anything any better.
If Quaritch died, then Lyle would have been promoted to coronal as the only one of his squad to survive, he would have taken Jake in immediately when he found him in AFAA, the kids would have died at the hands of the Mangkwan because Jake and Quaritch weren't there to save them, and Neytiri would have lost her entire family in one day.
