I cannot believe you’ve blessed me with ANOTHER snippet? Oh you are TOO KIND 🫶🏽🫶🏽 I feel like it’s Christmas morning or something with the gifts I’m being showered with.
Also —
ARE YOU INSANE?!?!??? TONGUE PIERCING SPIDER????? Oh my god this has changed the trajectory of my life. When Lo’ak was absolutely mesmerised by the tongue piercing, I literally was just nodding in agreement because yeah Lo’ak me too buddy, me too.
I was actually giggling so much because Lo’ak is actually a lost cause. He’s so, so clueless. Spending all this time admiring his bro’s ‘well defined back’ and piercings when his gorgeous gf is in front of him??? Yah real platonic. Also that comment from Aonung saying Tsireya should get a tongue piercing because Lo’ak keeps staring at Spider’s mouth so then maybe he’ll want to actually kiss Tsireya? INSANE 💀💀💀 I actually gasped why would he SAY that 😭 Lo’ak feeling like he got shot after that actually made me laugh even harder. My silly lost dramatic little guy; so endearing.
It’s killing me that Aonung clearly knows what’s going on but I’m curious if Tsireya knows? Because it seems like she does ( or at least recognises to some extent Lo’ak’s feelings) but I’m curious on why she’d stay in this relationship if that’s the case? My poor, sweet girl she deserves so much more 💔💔
As for the Aonung and Spider thing going on — I AM OBSESSED!!! I never really thought about this ship but you are opening my eyes to a new world!!! I can’t wait to see more of their dynamic in this fic. It was actually really cute how Aonung went from playful to worried and went after Spider when he realised he was actually upset. I really, really can’t wait to see more of this friendship. I’m curious if Aonung will actually end up liking Spider because I have a tinkling feeling Spider actually likes Lo’ak already and knows it unlike Lo’ak so maybe some unrequited feelings going on here??? Idk I’m guessing but I can’t wait to see if I’m right or wrong when it’s out!!
Also I can already see a hint of it in the snippet BUT JEALOUSY TROPE FROM LO’AK???? Oh, how I love some good jealousy. I can’t wait to see if this is explored more in the fic and what Lo’ak does because of it!!
Once again, THANK YOUU so much for another snippet 🙏🏽 Each one just excites me more and more for the full thing IM SO READYYYY
Hi! Thank you AGAIN for being so HYPED for this story that is coming at it goes!
Here's what's next and probably the last extract I post here before truly diving into the main part of the story that will then be published on AO3. But that can give some responses already and an idea of Spider's relationship with Aonung!
Warning, it gets a little... hot in it. Nothing crazy but... you know... That story will be E-rated which is why I'll no longer be able to post extracts here after this one.
I hope you still like it!!!!!
Aonung found Spider alone on the beach.
He didn't need to ask to know that the human was upset. It showed in the way Spider was hugging his legs, his body forming a square from behind.
He didn’t speak but knew the human had sensed his presence. Spider was really good at sensing things. That’s what made him a skilled hunter, even though he didn’t really like to kill and barely went with them when they fished beyond the reef.
He took a step forward just to be aligned with Spider’s curled body on the sand. The human still hadn’t looked up or even removed his arms from around his legs.
“To odio”, he said in Spanish, “Te quiero… Pero te odio…”
Aonung pouted, feeling guilty for having hurt his friend. And when Spider switched to Spanish, it meant that he was really upset. Aonung’s ears moved to the back of his skull. He had truly earned that.
Slowly, he sat on the sand next to his friend, close enough for their legs to touch and share warmth and Aonung marvelled at the size difference, Spider’s knee barely reaching the middle of his calf. Humans truly were adorable little things. Even if he knew that Spider wasn’t little by any human standards. Toruk Makto had made it pretty clear that Spider was actually a giant for his species and when Aonung visited Hell’s Gate with Lo’ak once, he saw for himself how huge Spider was compared to the other tawtutes. He also met the loveliest creature and had been smitten with her ever since. He asked Spider to teach her Spanish so he could understand and communicate with her. And Spider being very proud of his Colombian heritage from his mother accepted. It’s basically how their close friendship began. And after the painful void left by his mother’s and Rotxo’s death, the distraction was more than welcome.
In the end, Aonung didn’t have many occasions to speak to the lovely tawtute woman - Myrcella - but Spanish had become their own secret language with Spider. Whenever they wanted to speak about something personal, they switched to Spanish. Lo’ak, this lovelorn imbecile, hated it. Every time Spider and Aonung started speaking in Spanish in front of the group, Lo’ak’s ears would lower down and his tail would hit the first thing it came in contact with, usually a bowl, some fruit or Tuk.
They had to be careful though. Jakesully, who had spent many years in a place where this language was spoken before becoming Na’vi, understood Spanish very well. So they couldn’t be completely discreet. It happened once or twice that they spoke, the two of them, about their feelings or making fun of people around them playfully and they saw Jakesully’s mouth stretch into a smile as he heard them.
Aonung glanced sideways at his sulking friend.
“You’re mad…” he stated, not even expecting a confirmation and he sighed at his own idiocy.
Spider shrugged, “You’re just… You’re so…”
Aonung nodded, “I know… Soy un tonto!”
“Un imbécil!” Spider completed.
“Un cabrón”, Aonung continued, turning the argument into a small game, “El mayor idiota del pueblo!”
Spider chuckled. Aonung smiled, glad that he managed to make his friend laugh and he looked down at the blond braids he had made a few days earlier. Spider was playing with a stick in the sand, drawing easy patterns on the brown dunes.
“I’m sorry,” Aonung eventually said, “I didn’t mean to hurt you. But he was being so ridiculous! If you had seen him! I swear, rubio, it was like he wanted to take his own eyes and put them in your mouth! He was obsessed! I thought he was going to eat you alive!”
Spider shook his head again dejectedly but didn’t respond.
“I know you don’t believe me.”
Spider took a big aspiration before speaking, “Lo’ak has been under a lot of stress lately. The training is being hard on him and there’s the whole thing with your sister… He wants to do it right but he’s not very good at this sort of things-”
“-HA!” Aonung laughed loudly, “Not very good?! He is bad! He is the worst at it! I have never seen such horrible courting! It is painful to watch and leads to nowhere! True Metkayina would never!”
“He’s doing his best!” Spider defended him fiercely.
But Aonung was not having any of it, “Because you help!” he countered, “If not for you, Lo’ak would still be offering my sister dried seaweed and sand balls! Thank you for the carved stone, by the way. Tsireya really loved it.”
Spider nodded, “You didn’t tell her I did it?!”
“No. But she’s not stupid. She knows where Lo’aks gets his “gifts”... She doesn’t say anything and thanks Lo’ak but…” he shook his head and flickered his ears, annoyed, “The other day, he took her to have dinner on a tree! A TREE! My poor sister!”
Spider shrugged, “Well, he does come from the forest!” his lips stretched into a smile, “I would find that lovely!”
For a short while, Aonung didn’t respond and turned his head toward his friend to observe him. Spider looked up and caught his intense stare.
“What?” he asked, frowning because he could recognize Aonung’s mischievous expression even with eyes closed.
“Maybe Lo’ak should take you to those dinners then,” Aonung said with a serious tone, “instead of forcing my sister through… Metkayina have a natural fear of heights. We’re not tree people. But you are. You were born in the trees.”
“I wasn’t born in the trees,” Spider objected, “I was born in a lab.”
“But you grew up in them. So it’s all the same! I saw you. Those trees and those vines are your natural element.”
“I’m not Lo’ak’s future mate.”
“And neither is my sister,” Aonung stubbornly concluded.
“Aonung…”
“He doesn’t even like her and we all know it. You don’t kiss someone with your eyes open if you want them as your mate.”
Spider let out a sigh, “Maybe he’s just nervous…”
“Or maybe he doesn’t want to kiss her because he doesn’t like her. The other day, he pushed her away when things became a bit heated between them two. Tsireya was really hurt. It’s not the first time he does that. It is not the Na’vi way.”
Spider bit his lip, trying to find the right words to once again defend his beloved, “He’s waiting for the right moment,” Spider explained, “He wants their Awakening to happen after the ceremony and I know he wants it to be very special.”
Aonung observed him for a very long time and Spider didn’t hold his gaze, turning his attention back to the sea in front of them, darkened by Eclipse.
“This is not how Awakening works, rubio,” Aonung suddenly explained, “You do not plan Awakening. It happens when it is supposed to happen. He’s been courting my sister for six moons now and still nothing. Tsireya can feel hers sometimes approaching but Lo’ak isn’t responding which means that her Trance can never truly begin.”
Spider frowned, not very knowledgeable on the subject, “What does that mean?”
Aonung held his gaze, “It means that he’s not the one for her.”
Spider swallowed but didn’t respond. He didn’t want to believe in Aonung’s theories. He loved his friend but Lo’ak belonged with Tsireya. They were perfect for each other and Spider knew Lo’ak was already building their Marui. Lo’ak loved Tsireya. Aonung was just being the older brother.
“I know you don’t believe me,” Aonung said again.
Spider shrugged, “I just… don’t want to hope for nothing, Nung. And you’re not helping. I understand you want to protect your sister because you disapprove of Lo’ak…”
“I don’t disapprove of Lo’ak! He’s a skxawng but he’s my friend. He’s just not into my sister and he’s wasting everyone’s time. My sister knows something is wrong but she’s too kind to break up with him. And I know that a part of her hopes he will eventually become more passionate. He won’t and she’s lying to herself. Even though, I’m pretty sure she knows he likes you.”
Spider rolled his, “Oh, not this again!”
“If you had seen the way he was staring into your mouth!” Aonung started again with a huge smile while Spider chuckled and struggled to avoid Aonung tickling him gently, “It was obscene! His eyes were glued to your tongue!” he grimaced playfully at Spider, tickling him again all the while remaining mindful of his superior strength.
Spider moved a bit to avoid him but the Na’vi grabbed him in his arms and pulled him on his lap.
“He was not!” Spider weakly protested, smiling.
“Yes, he was!” Aonung insisted, clicking his tongue and staring down at the golden human with glee, “But I don’t blame him! That thing has me curious too!”
He gave Spider a suggestive look and the human shook his head, laughing.
“Really?” Spider said with a smile.
Aonung’s smirk widened to show his teeth, “Come on, rubio!”
Spider rolled his eyes but Aonung didn’t look away and kept staring at him with a mix of amusement and seriousness. Spider smirked at him again and seemed to hesitate for a second more, before lifting up his head just as Anonung bent down. Both closed their eyes. The knew this dance.
They opened their mouths and their tongues touched, Aonung immediately wrapping his around Spider’s much smaller one. The difference in texture never failed to amaze them. As did the size. Aonung’s was rough, large and dry, whereas Spider’s was slimy, wet and soft. The tip of Aonung’s tongue found the tiny jewel and he began to play with it, all the while ticking gently the underside of Spider’s tongue, making the human moan without shame.
They explored each other slowly and lazily for a short moment before pulling away laughing. Spider dug the tip of his piercing between his teeth, enjoying how tingly the kiss made him feel.
“Ok… It felt really nice!” he admitted, licking his lips.
Aonung’s smile widened, “It did right!”
They chuckled at their own impudence and Aonung settled Spider correctly on his lap, letting the human’s back rest against his chest, his own chin supported by the human’s head just beneath him, his arms wrapped protectively around the smaller body.
“If that felt so good, maybe we should consider the jewels in the lower parts…” Aonung began as joke but Spider knew him well enough to know he was half serious.
“No.”
“Oh! Rubio!”
“For the last time, those chomper teeth of yours will never, ever, ever get anywhere near my dick!” Spider vehemently protested.
Aonung chuckled, “You are no fun! I'm sure I could give you a great time!"
