Hello Karb! I was discussing it with some friends, but coming to a conclusion about this is a bit difficult. If Mechana is a mixture of blood and gears, how would injuries, food processing, and any sort of emotional conflict affect/work for her? Would it work similarly like a human or way different?
Mechana has a lot to learn about herself.
Her body is a jumble of blood and flesh, meat and wires. All partitioned in strange, unexpected ways. She is a machine who built herself out of other machines in an amniotic setting. Mechana was both built, but was also grown.
If undamaged, the machine parts of her will keep her alive in case of severe injury, but she will not be having a good time. She can lose a lot of blood before she dies. In an emergency situation, such as if Mechana is on the edge of death, her machine biology may be forced to take over. Her mechanical lizard brain will control the body while she is effectively unconscious, lashing out at anything around her and trying to ensure her survival.
Similarly, Mechana doesn't need to eat for the machine parts of her body to continue living. However, her biological aspects still do need nutrients. As such, she desires and needs to eat to keep from experiencing severe side effects. If starved, she may experience temporary cognitive decline and a violent need to eat. Mechana needs to eat, just like the rest of us!
Emotionally, Mechana is a person, just like the rest of us. However, in her self image, she may have trouble understanding what it means to be a person. At times she may feel a terrible resentment towards someone like Nic, who never needs to doubt his own humanity, only to feel extreme guilt about that resentment later. She also finds people interesting, and has a desire to help and care for people. These feelings can create a lot of conflict. Sometimes, she may wish she was entirely an unthinking machine.
What was Nash actually sick with on the satellite?
She never would find out.
Chronic illness which worsened with time.
Doctors would be unhelpful, and tell her it was just anxiety, or that she should come another time. Nothing would be found.
By the end, Nash was in a lot of pain and a lot of malaise.
The illness isn't what killed her, though.

What constitutes the parameters for people obtaining Temprocal or Damicelle architypes?
Does something have to align for it? is there certain personalities and or world views more likely to have either?
What is the defining feature between a incarnation or simply a aspect of either god?
How does this differ between psychopomp and dashbored?
Sorry for all the questions but I have been the most confused about this in the universes!
Humans are different between games, and the Temprocal/Damicelle dichotomy only applies to the world of DashBored. They are not connected to other games.
Within the world of DashBored, all humans are created as parts of Temprocal and Damicelle's bodies. Essentially accretion of stardust or maybe "God dust" if you will.
As such, all humans have a differing accumulation of T/D amounts, which is both inherited, but also kind of random. At certain high amounts, Distortional powers would begin to manifest in a human.
I'm quite sure that bad players like SAPU would be interested in eugenic breeding programs to attempt to create strong distortions soldiers, but like real eugenics, I'm also certain that these would fail, mostly due to the whimsical and unpredictable nature of T/D inheritance.
The entire purpose of the Garden was to act as a giant "coffee filter" to drain and concentrate this T/D dust, to eventually create the pure components seen at the end of the game. "Unimportant" or forgotten people are kidnapped purposefully, though their T/D amounts may be low, it's important to not gain any unwanted attention by kidnapping any specifically powerful people.
There are no "incarnations" of Temprocal and Damicelle, though they themselves are incarnations of the moon and sun. Temprocal and Damicelle themselves are not specifically ur-gods or anything like that, they just represent particularly mature, advanced, and powerful Sun/Moon incarnations.
Humans in Psychopomp work entirely differently, they were born into the world through different means, and as such have different rules.
