I think the harm of denying people the right to control their own bodies is so, so much worse than the risk of people regretting the decisions they make. Regretting something you decided to do is a much healthier pain than the pain of regretting that you didn't get to have a choice.

I'm sick of watching our police kill people with impunity man.

I can't believe we're already coming up on the sixth anniversary of Geroge Floyd's murder and the months of nationwide protests that sparked and policing has only gotten worse. Like let it not be underscored that even if Kamala won she also vowed to be just as 'tough on immigration'. The normalization of this violence is crazy. A better world is possible if we fundamentally reframe our concept of justice and public safety. Is a country that treats immigrants like vermin and parasites safer? Is a country that shoots unarmed citizens just?? It doesn't have to be like this.

Extremely online pet peeve, i know, but it's like. moderately annoying when you voice a criticism of USamericans or first-worlders or anglophones that you know from experience is not exclusive to *white* USamericans or first-worlders or anglophones, and the people reblogging it in agreement keep inserting the word "white" in there. Like dgmw definitely all of those criticisms are definitely compounded by whiteness but sometimes people act like only white USians have the capability to be xenophobic or something.

People occasionally reblog my posts about anglophone language imperialism and say shit like "white monolingual anglophones love making fun of foreign accents" and like. Anyone who speaks english as a second language knows the word "white" is kinda tacked on in there lol

Also idk I find the idea that making fun of foreign accents is a *white* monolingual anglo thing kinda silly when at this point it's kind of a trite observation that like 60% of second- and third-generation immigrant humor in the US is some variation of "hi fellow english-speakers, who wants to see me make fun of my parents'/grandparents' accent?"

there is an entire framework in the USA's Asian-American community's kids for picking out whether fellow immigrant Asian-American kids are acceptable target of bullying and it largely revolves around how accented you are (how fresh-off-the-boatish you are, shortened as fob).
