someone who didn’t feel safe to be themselves so they grew up to just be, there. complacent. but still feeling like a burden. still seeing a disdain within peoples eyes. not understanding why my presence was a bother when ill i did was sit there quietly. because god know you would still hate me if i opened my mouth.

i want to say the issue is on you. your own problems for feeling a threat from someone who is not bothering you in the slightest.

but for the longest time i took it as there was an issue with me. and there was. my issue was that i let myself feel beaten down by your words, actions, opinions on me.

it held me down. snuffed out my flame for so long. i dont even know who i am because i had let you decide that i was nothing from the beginning.

i am so much more though.

i know that, because i finally realized that your words mean nothing. those mean nothing to me. nothing to my life and how i live it.

its hard. relearning that i deserve a spot on this planet. especially on days where i wish i wasn’t here at all. but i am so much more that what you made me think i was.

i can be anything.
