Always wear clean underwear” my mum said… “Just in case you get hit by a bus”… Well, today I avoided the bus but hurt my neck and got admitted to hospital! My neck was fine but my blood pressure was very high so they kept me in overnight. I had on a thick terry cloth nappy and pilchers which they left on me until the specialist saw me. Once my neck was cleared I was changed into disposables but kept the plastic pants. The nurses were quite business-like and never batted an eyelid. I was certainly genuinely embarrassed at first when I was being admitted. The thought of having to explain my huge cloth nappy was on my mind but I had no choice other than to accept that all the staff were going to see it. I assume “incontinence” is now on my medical file!

Such a lovely sunny day, what bother leaving the garden to go the toilet
