Thursday 7th Nov 2013: My Cronuts Adventure.

We were returning from a long arduous work day from the country when we chanced upon Jenny’s bakery at Eastwood which supposedly does delicious cronuts! I’d heard that their fruchocs flavoured ones were oh-so-decidedly-aussie-and-to-die for so I was uber keen to try them. Colleague felt the same way but alas we had already driven well past that place. So what do two foodies/dessert/pastry obsessed girls do? We did a u-turn in the middle of busy Glen Osmond Road DURING peak hour traffic! Lol. Did I mention we had a bad day?! We HAD to have our sweets!

Turns out they were nearly sold out on the cronuts. Well it was about 4pm in the afternoon. No fruchocs flavoured left BUT they still had lemon meringue (my fav) and choc mint flavoured ones. There were many more sinful desserts on offer too but we decided to stay on the path of our cronuts quest. Haha. So we each got one and drove back to the office clutching our precious cargo for dear life, where we each shared half of our respective cronuts. They were delicious!! Jenny’s Bakery I’ll be back (for the fruchocs flavoured cronuts)!

So, I have a new favourite Friday night hangout…. Clever Little Tailors was recently voted best bar by the Advertiser food awards 2013 and it truly does not disappoint with its cosy rustic decor, comfy arm chairs, good selection of drinks, and a hip and cool crowd as patrons. Can’t wait to return! :)
