Welcome ladies and gentlemen to Lore_Guard's Wonderful Extravaganza Hour! Come one, come all! I'll be your host as we traverse fandoms, inconsistent art styles, and more than one late-night absurdity special!
BUT FIRST! A word from my 𝒮𝒫𝒪𝒩𝒮𝒪𝑅... 👀
♡ 𝒴𝑜𝓊 ♡, my dear internet acquaintance! That's right! Like a manager who doesn't honor my clock-out, you can reach me at any time!
My ask box is OPEN ✅️
My DM's are OPEN✅️
You can TAG me ✅️ for whatever reason (tag games, look at this post, etc.)
But enough about you and your wonderful posts! We need more about ME, an internet stranger who commits a little to hard to the bit!
This wonderful extravaganza hour has a focus on the one and only Twisted Wonderland 💜
As your ✨️host✨️, I will interrupt the regularly scheduled programing with snippets of my personal life or non-twst content, appropriately tagged as #lore with lore-guard.
My beloved Cater Diamond has overtaken my brain, thus resulting in a WIP super long fanfic. HOWEVER ☝️ (however) I do not write linearly so I'm waiting to be 90% done with it before I start posting, which should happen by the end of the year.
Rook Hunt is my muse, my darling. I draw him a bit more than Cater, but Cater gets a fanfic, so I think the attention evens out in the end. You will see him on my blog and that is a threat.
Ah, but in this economy, I am not just your host! Alas I have many different side jobs such as:
✨️My YouTube channel✨️
❤️My sideblog for my original story❤️
🖌My Art Fight🖌
Oh would you look at the time! My wonderful extravaganza hour has come to a close. Perhaps next time my show can secure more funding. Fare thee well, internet acquaintance. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

tldr: Loraine first gained Rook's attention when he saw her drawing Vil. Loraine usually keeps such tight control on her behavior that not even Rook knew she could draw, a skill she had vocally looked down on in the past.
Loraine didn't know what came over her. She was supposed to be studying for her upcoming alchemy class. She had missed two questions on her last test. That wouldn't —no couldn't— happen again. She dug her hand into her notebook to keep herself from biting her pen.
The lounge was relatively empty, but it was still too loud to focus. Magicam videos of students just barely following the dress code had been trending that day, according to the whispering in the halls. Vil was lecturing someone for not wearing shoes. That was normal, expected even. But something about the way the sunlight hit Vil's face...
Loraine's hand moved before her mind could catch up. Her perfect, pristine notebook with flawless handwriting was permanently marred with a messy sketch. Immediately, she moved to rip the page out, but just before her fingers touched the paper, a shadow leaned over her shoulder.
"What exquisite technique! I didn't realize you had such skill in your repertoire."
Her heart froze. Rook Hunt. The "le Chasseur d'Amour" himself. Better known as the one person in Pomefiore who could ruin everything Loraine has worked for. She thought he was on an errand for Vil. When did he get back? Loraine slammed her notebook shut, but it was far too late to fool Rook's keen eyes.
"It was nothing," she dismissed.
Like she knew he would, Rook did not drop the subject. His eyes were already alight at the prospect of a new side of herself. They were barely acquaintances, but she supposed that added to Rook's curiosity. Unfortunately for her. "Non, non, you captured his visage perfectly."
Scoffing, she got up from her chair. Messy ink was far from "perfect." Vil's hair was uneven and his crown was non-existent. And it was on lined paper, no less. It was hardly worth noticing. Still, she clutched the notebook to her chest.
Loraine waved her hand, brushing him off. "It was nothing more than a doodle."
Rook gently clasped her hand in the air with his, almost like he was praying. "And what a magnificent doodle it is!"
Her parents would disagree. Walking even quicker, Loraine snatched her hand back to her chest. Rook likewise increased his pace, following her into the hallways.
"It was childish," she bit out through gritted teeth. Her dorm uniform flowed around her as her heels clicked on the floor. She turned down another hallway, Rook only a few steps behind. The door to her room is finally in sight. Rook continued to wax poetic about things he knew nothing about.
"Art is never childish!" he gasped. "It is the exposition of the soul."
Loraine violently opened her door. "Good day, Rook," she said as she slammed the door closed, putting a physical wall between her isolation and his curiosity. She leaned against the door. Loraine didn't hear Rook's footsteps as he retreated, but she heard him greet another student down the hall.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Loraine took a deep, calming breath. It didn't work. With her parents eyes in the school, Loraine could only hope, in vain, that Rook wouldn't talk to her in public. Rook Hunt was everything her parents hated: loud, curious, and unceasingly himself. Certainly not someone she should be associating with.
Relaxing her grip on her notebook, Loraine opens it and finally rips the offensive page out before tossing it in her trash can with the rest of her "magnificent doodles". She scoffed. There was nothing magnificent about a sketched face that barely had eyes.
Returning to more important matters, Loraine took out her textbooks. She had a progress report with her parents scheduled in the next hour, and she could not disappoint them.
Art Fight has been such a fun time! I've already done more in four days than I usually do the entire month, which is exciting. I do love having a high attack ratio.

As the heir to her family's lucrative potion company, Loraine has spent her life conforming to her parents strict standards. She has built herself into the perfect golden child, which is reflected in her signature spell, "Golden Mirror." At NRC she takes her studies very seriously. Though her dedication alienates her from her more lax classmates, her parents have contacts within the school who report back to them her behavior, friends, and reputation. Slipping up means incurring their wrath.
She was very creative as a child and loved theatre, music, and especially art. However, her parents thought that it was a waste of time and forced her into more business focused hobbies as she grew up. At NRC she finally has the opportunity to be herself outside of her parents' watchful eyes, but she soon learns that is not the case. Still, being in the same dorm as the beautiful Vil inspires her to start drawing again, even if its only in the safety of isolation.
Relationship with Rook:
Loraine first gained Rook's attention when he saw her drawing Vil. Loraine usually keeps such tight control on her behavior that not even Rook knew she could draw, a skill she had vocally looked down on in the past.
Rook wants to know why she disregards the arts when it appears she herself can draw. He starts interacting with her on a regular basis, much to her annoyance. It takes a while but she slowly starts letting her guard down.
They become unlikely friends and eventually something more. But its still a rough friendship in the beginning since Loraine tries to maintain her parents standards while Rook wants her to break out of them and discover herself. Likewise, Loraine has spent enough time around her parents' colleagues to recognize Rook's misdirection when it comes to his personal life, and Rook isn't used to someone actually pushing back against his walls.
Signature Spell:
When she casts Golden Mirror on someone, it transports Loraine to a pocket dimension outside of time. In this dimension, she see's illusions of herself as the person's ideal version of herself. When she casts it on her parents, she sees illusions of herself running the business, pursuing studious hobbies such as alchemy, and looking professional with no self-expression.
While the inspiration for this is from "What Else Can I Do?" ('I make perfect, practiced poses'), the scene where Elsa dies in Frozen 2 is a much better reference for what it looks like. Just instead of being made out of snow, the illusions of Loraine look real, just slightly transparent.
Trivia:
Twisted from Isabela Madrigal.
If she gets a question wrong, she'll obsessively research the topic until her next test.
Her first school of choice was Nobel Bell College, but her parents forced her to accept her NRC invitation.
Her SS name, "Golden Mirror", is derived from golden child and mirroring behavior.
The technologic focus of the Kingdom of Heroes influenced her parents to look down on the arts.
Her favorite class is Changes & Comparisons of Abbreviated Spells in Ancient and Modern Magic History (mentioned in Cater's lab vignette).
Her last name, Inés, was Isabela's original name during production.
Introducing the Housewarden before Riddle | Poker Royale
Character Summary:
Poker is the Housewarden before Riddle and is the villain of my Firstyear!Cater au fanfic. He is twisted from the Queen of Hearts, specifically her extreme mood swings. He doesn't care about anything until it affects him. If you bother him, he will do his very best to ruin your life.
For example, when someone paints his uniform red, he locks the entirety of Heartslabyul out of the dorm using a magic lock after taking their magic pens. Crowley only gets a handle on the situation the next day.
Dynamics:
Ace's older brother, Valet, has the personal goal of annoying Poker. Not enough to bear the full weight of his retribution, but enough to be annoying. Poker keeps Valet in line through blackmail.
Poker slowly finds Cater increasingly irritating as Cater becomes friends with Vil and Leona, who both hate Poker. Cater's "rebellion" is in Poker's head since he's so paranoid about losing power.
Character Design Notes:
Poker ripped off one of the golden ropes of his uniform and used it to wrap the painted white rose around his hat.
The Heartslabyul pin is pinned upside down on Poker's choker.
His uniform is more simplistic than Riddle's because he doesn't want to spend time on "needless fluff". He only puts on the bare minimum to keep Crowley from saying something. He has better things to do, like terrorizing his dorm.
Hello internet acquaintances! Your beloved host has finally finished her Art Fight profile after three weeks of work. My cast of characters include: twst oc's, a world of heroes, villains, and vigilantes, and an epic fantasy adventure!
And by three weeks, I mean three weeks of 3-6 hours of work every day. Why did it take three weeks you ask? Well you see, one thing quickly turned into many.
(Long post below)
I wanted to do a profile card this year, therefore I have to choose the characters to put on it. However, I had moved away from my previous characters in favor of my current ones. That leaves three character spots open on the card. And so I figured I'd put Poker on it, but if I put Poker on it, I might as well make another twst oc. But that leaves one more slot, so I should add the character I'm making an animatic for.
But I want them to all have full body references. None of them, excluding one, have full body references. So I drew their full body references.
That should be enough, right? Wrong. I have to set up their character profiles. Now I could do a few sentences and call it done, but where's the suffering in that? Over the past week I have painstakingly done six character profiles (~200-600 words) organized using colored cells as organization.
Side note: did you know that the cell table properties pop up window on Art Fight sucks? It's super tall and you can't move it. So, if you want to widen the table so it doesn't look smushed, you have to have ten lines below the table. You have to scroll down so the table is barely across the top before clicking table properties. ONLY then will the window actually fit on your screen, allowing you to click save in the very bottom right of the window. I am using a laptop. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to shift the window up.
Forming the content to actually put in profiles was the hardest part, but that's what happens when your oc info is decentralized and scattered, if it was written down at all. But I prevailed.
Surely after all that I would be done, right? Well you see that was only for my character profiles. I wanted to do something for my profile. Which means I need a profile banner. Which means I need to draw my internet persona as a banner. I didn't like it, but I did use it as my pfp.
But if I'm doing a new profile, I should finish drafting my pinned post which I had started a few months ago before leaving it to rot.
And if I'm doing a pinned post, I should get my side blog up and running. It is not that up and running right now, but I tried. I'll work on it more in August.
Okay so I've done my profile and pinned post, what else could there be? Well you see, I listen to music. A lot. Therefore I should also link my character playlists. But they are a mess and I don't keep up with them that well. And with a new character, I had a new playlist i needed to build on top of organization.
The problem with playlists, however, is that only I know why I chose that song. So of course I had to make new playlists that only had songs that would immediately make sense.
...But I should probably share my two twst oc's here, too. This is a twst blog, after all. But if I'm posting Loraine, I should do a comic for her and Rook. However, the panel composition is killing me so I wrote it as a fic in the meantime. Her profile and Poker's are going to be uploaded here over the next couple hours to avoid swamping someone's feed.
And if I'm doing that, I may as well make a long post detailing my Art Fight prep. Though there was a LOT of going back and forth between these various side quests. Don't think I am more organized than I am. I made Loraine a week ago. My desk has been a whirlwind of chaos.
Could I just have continued with the same profile as last year? Yes, yes I could. Would that be in line with the internet persona I have crafted for myself? Also yes, yes it would. Why all this work, you ask? Well I felt like it. And it was fun.

Hello internet acquaintances! Your beloved host has finally finished her Art Fight profile after three weeks of work. My cast of characters include: twst oc's, a world of heroes, villains, and vigilantes, and an epic fantasy adventure!
4 rook WIPs that will never be finished + reasons 💬
hello hello I was finishing up my current illustration for beach rook and I thought, why not show people abandoned wips of rook that I didn't get to post
this wip is abandoned because I couldn't figure out the composition of the vases, and I didn't know how to draw plants and the background, I had a vision of the bg being a greenhouse, but I couldn't find a reference picture for it, hence why it's abandoned. also his face looks weird, looks a bit boyish... I hated it.
in those frames, I was planning to draw butterflies, and man did I regret this one. I couldn't bring myself to draw so many UNIQUE butterflies!! besides, I couldn't draw gold for the life of me, and in my sketch all the frames are gold, so yeah. this one is abandoned so early in its production.
this was going so well..!! I abandoned it because I couldn't figure out how to make the background look less empty. but I'm super proud of this WIP and if I'm bullied enough I'd finish it, but this was so long ago (February) that I'm putting it behind me 😔. also fun fact this is the first fanart I made of rook ❤️
the thumbnail!! oh man, this was also going so well, I abandoned this one solely because of his BOB. it looks so big and puffy and I hated it, I was 9 hours in this artwork it's too late to fix his bob, so I abandoned it. I was so angry at myself for not seeing the problem early on 😩😩😩
I'll probably post the finished beach rook illustration tomorrow!! Currently it's 1 am for me and I drew from 9pm till 12am to finish it up and I'm pretty proud of it 💖
