Found this comment exchange on a popular YouTube video by Clickspring in ref to the Antikythera Mechanism. The whole idea, here, is that the Greek/Egyptian calendar originally consisted of 360 days per year. Then, through years of research by astronomers and mathematicians, we transitioned into the 365 day calendar year that we see today. One comment suggested that the transition practically happened overnight, perhaps with an “astronomical catastrophe,” that actually altered the Earth’s rate of rotation by 5 days. The highlighted comment is pure gold!
