That isn't what fascists argue. Their critique is of the existing ruling class which uses "diversity" as a means of dividing and conquering the nation, not of immigrants or minority groups. If you believe that race is how capitalists divide and conquer workers, then "diversity" and a maximally diverse society would be ideal for capitalists, yeah? And if Western countries are so racist and oppressive for racial and ethnic minorities, it's not in their interests to come here to be hunted by racist police officers and menaced by racist fascist comic book villains. And if they are not racist and oppressive, why are we so worried about racism then? In the former case, you lose the justification for mass immigration, and in the latter case you lose the justification for the perpetual witch hunting of racist thought criminals, affirmative action, and all the rest, so which is it?
In the 1990s, corporate money flowed into Clinton's Democratic Party, and what capitalists got in return for that support is deregulated industries and privatization. The Democrats gave the economic liberalizers and capitalists what they wanted on the economic front and sold it by giving bourgeois fashion statement liberals what they wanted on the social and culture war front. They get economic liberalization, and you get social/cultural liberalization. It's the social liberal left that is now employed in defense of capitalism, not the religious social conservative boogeymen of yore. (/green&color text - market by me)
If you want to see how this works, look at what became of Occupy Wall St. Originally, it was about the bank bailout and the disastrous failure of neoliberal economic policy, which was a bipartisan affair, since both parties had essentially the same view of economic policy but sold it in two different ideological culture war wrappers. Occupy was steered and astroturfed away from class struggle and towards culture war social liberal nonsense because this enabled the Democratic Party to avoid alienating the corporate donors that had been brought on board in the 1990s. Consider the logic of it: If you're poor and the economic system isn't working for you, don't blame capitalism, blame white supremacists who ruined capitalism for you. See how easy it is to use social liberalism and the left's "diversity" politics to defend capitalism?
The fashionable social liberal politics costs their corporate donors nothing, so they're happy to support this nonsense because in return they get the economic and foreign policy they want. That is how, from the 1990s on, the bourgeois liberal left became useful idiots for capitalists, and you're all apparently in denial about it because you still think you can square social liberalism with the interests of workers and the poor. Nobody requires coherent social structures and norms more than workers and the poor, so you're not educating or liberating anybody. You're just destroying the necessary social framework that workers and the poor require if they are to be able to rely on one another and articulate common interests as communities or even as an economic class. Regardless if you think they are good guys or bad guys, fascists, who are just the extreme version of a set of socially conservative and communitarian ideological tendencies on the right wing, understand this, if nothing else.
