Now that we're well into fall here in Kanto, I wanted to shout out our local Pumpkaboo Patch located off of Route 2 and North-East of Viridian City. As some of you may know, the shelter in Lavender Town sees an influx of returned and abandoned Ghost, Dark, and Poison type Pokemon this time of year-- especially Pumpkaboo.
We've been lucky enough to work with the owners of this nearby ranch and they've helped care for and rehome many of these lil' guys over the past few years. I highly recommend checking out the festivals and farmer's market hosted there throughout October to help support the work they're doing. If you're wanting some aesthetic fall photos, this is your place!

Actual transcript of radio conversation between the British and the Irish, off the coast of Kerry, in Oct 1998
Irish: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South, to avoid a collision.
British: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North, to avoid a collision.
Irish: Negative. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
British: This is the Captain of a British navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
Irish: Negative. I say again, You will have to divert your course.
British: This is the aircraft carrier HMS Britannia, the second largest ship in the British Atlantic Fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers, and numerous support vessels. I demand that you change your course 15 degrees North, I say again, that is 15 degrees North, or counter-measures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
Irish: We are a lighthouse. Your call.
in your experience, what are some ghost type quirks that people may not be aware of? <3

I appreciate everyone giving me the opportunity to gush about ghost types! Someone complained last time because I got too caught up in discussing the nuances of using certain ghost type abilities in the competitive scene and ended up taking up way too much air time... so I will try to limit myself to one anecdote in hopes that this broadcast doesn't go on for another six hours.
One ghost type feature I find pretty fascinating is that their bodies can pass through solid objects. So when people say they are absolutely everywhere here in Lavender Town, they really do mean everywhere. Especially places they're not really supposed to be.
In fact, if you've ever visited the Pokemart in town, you're sure to see our infamous PokeMart Gastlys, which are a perfect example of this.
No one owns them, and they're completely docile other than occasionally spooking a shopper by floating out of the freezer. You could shoo them out but they'd eventually just phase back in through the walls. Just one of the many charming features of our little town 👻

how is your gengar so small?

I don't know, lemme ask her... Shortbread, anything to add? No?
--She's just blepping at the mic. Anyway, when I had her checked up at the nearest Pokemon Center-- the general consensus was that the smallness is due to premature evolution. To put it bluntly, whoever had her before evolved Shortbread from a Gastly to a Haunter and then almost immediately traded to evolve into a Gengar, with no time in between to get used to either form.
This goes against league regulations and can actually disqualify a Pokemon from competitive play in some regions. I hate to think that may have been why she was found just abandoned in town...
Ah, sorry, I didn't wanna bring the mood down. She's really a very happy, very mischievous little Gengar now, and despite the smallness hasn't had any other health complications.
--Oh, I just remembered this photo I took of the friends she made at Gengarcon 2022-- I'll share that when this transcript goes up tonight if anyone's interested.

Residents and visitors of Lavender Town may notice flocks of wild Drifloon floating by tonight as they make their yearly migration across the region. As you admire the little spirits passing through our little town, a few gentle reminders:
do not approach the Drifloon.
do not attempt to grab onto their strings.
keep careful watch over small children and small Pokemon.
have a fun-- and safe-- evening!

Hello, as someone who spent a decent chunk of time working in/around the Tower years back, I must know: did they ever find out which Ghost was stealing all the left shoes from visitors? I must have lost 20 pairs of shoes while I was there, but I was never able to find the culprit, and most people were asleep when it happened.
Also, please give Shortbread all the love in the world, and also a snack <3

Ah yes, I've been waiting to cover the Great Left Shoe Mystery of Lavender Town ever since I started the show!
Plenty of townspeople (myself included) could tell you just how many pairs of shoes were lost to this tragedy. I lost a perfectly good set of neon yellow Croconaws. Sigh. And like you said, a culprit was never brought into the light, until--
Well, for legal reasons I probably shouldn't say that I definitely positively cracked the case on this one, but the evidence is pretty damning. See, the morning after my prized Croc was stolen from me, I noticed something strange on my living room floor. Tiny pawprints leading out the front door (which no one locks here, by the way. It's a small town thing, trust me--)
And I know that everyone was assuming it was some ghost Pokemon culling all the shoes from people's homes but, hear me out. Ghosts don't leave pawprints. But you know what Pokemon could leave pawprints, and are also very commonly found in Lavender Town?

Good evening dear listeners! I have a very important announcement to make before kicking off tonight's broadcast. Lavender Town locals may have noticed an increase in newcomers at our Pokemon House-- Applins, Buneary, Luvdiscs, other love-themed or pink Pokemon-- following yesterdays festivities. The influx of surrendered and abandoned Pokemon has left not just us but shelters across all regions in need of help.
I have here a list of shelters and rescues that were affected by this. If you or anyone you know is capable of either fostering or adopting a rescue, please consider reaching out to your nearest shelter. If you aren't able to house another 'mon, not to worry! Many are in need of supplies and volunteers as well, so even a simple donation such as a bag of food or an hour of your time goes a long way!
