so Moana would be a great world in kh because it’d be great for Sora to visit but mostly because of the scene from Moana where she’s lost faith in herself the first encounter with Te Ka and Maui leaving and her giving back the heart of Te Fiti to the ocean. And I want Sora to have a moment like that. Bc so far up to this point Sora has:
- lost the keyblade for a time (kh1)
- allowed himself to be manipulated by Young Xehanort into straying from the Mark of Mastery exam
- fell into the darkness of sleep
- nearly became a vessel for Xehanort
- failed the Mark of Mastery exam
And later on he got grilled by Yen Sid reminding him of what a shit job he did on the exam. We also know he was excluded from the conversation regarding Aqua and when asked where Riku and Kairi were, Yen Sid said they were “doing something important”, insinuating that Sora isn’t capable of handling the information and was excluded because of it. And that has to fucking hurt for Sora. Not to mention Sora doesn’t express himself that well. He always puts on a smile but that’s not healthy? I mean the only other emotions we’ve seen him show are sadness and anger but even then those moments were incredibly short and get pushed aside as if it never happened.
So I want Sora to have a moment like Moana does. He’s just lost, sitting there thinking about why he’s even bothering. Why is the keyblade still with him? He’s not a master like Riku, and considering what happened in 3D, he probably berates himself for it. Even Kairi is better than him and she’s barely started to learn how to wield one.
Why was he chosen if he pretty much failed in his own opinion?
And like how Gramma Tala and the ancestors showed up for Moana, I want people connected to Sora show up for him.
Like Riku and Kairi show up, and talk to him. “Look where you are Sora.”
Then Ven, “You’ve helped me twice. You’re something special, Sora.”
Roxas, “There’s a reason you have the keyblade.”
Xion, “You were chosen, Sora. I know you can do it.”
All the people he’s connected to. I want them to show up and encourage him to keep going. That he’s more important than he thinks.
