My boy died and got isekaied, poor Sora.
I really find alot of the online discourse regarding Sora's KH4 design odd, considering that we really don't know what Sora looks like yet.
Now, what do I mean by this?
Quadratam seems to be the big hub/starting world of the game, similar to Traverse Town and Twilight Town in KH1, 2 and 3.
The whole point of Quadratam is to be a cold-open and a stark, striking difference from Sora's own dimension.
KH is known for having characters change both their design and style depending on the world as far back as KH1, so I think alot of the people worried about this being the game's main style and Sora's primary design to be jumping the gun.
(If I'm not mistaken. I think there's even an interview with Nomura stating this style to be, as far as we know, exclusive to Quadratam)
The closest we've come so far to seeing how KH4ora looks in a more traditional KH style is the anniversary artwork Nomura made for its announcement.
What sticks out to me here is the face and hair. With Sora being older here (probably being around 16-17), his face seems noticeably more mature. His hair is slightly flatter, along with his bangs being smaller, and Sora's face (along with his proportions in general) has slimmed down and gotten very slightly smaller with each new design, with this being the most slimmed down it's really been, mainly around his cheeks. The way Nomura draws him with an Adam's apple also helps to give a sense of maturity, a maturity that I don't think Sora knows how to come to terms with yet.
Now, in-game in Quadratam? I can't really say as we have yet to have an offical render of him in Quadratam or in the style KH3 established. I hope that once we get him in the more "traditional" KH style that some of his traits from Nomura's artwork carries over.
If anyone stuck around long enough to read this, what are your thoughts on his design?
Long post over, thanks for reading!
