A Ramble on Fairies
(Never tried to attach gifs with text posts. How fun.)
I've known about the way that some people work with fairies on their spiritual path for a while now - only recently have I started to pay attention. I used to think "Well, it's fine to honour deities, but fairies?? Really?? Aren't they just material for children's stories, hence the word 'fairy-tale'?" In short I just couldn't visualise these beings existing. Fairies had always existed in the space in my mind labelled as, 'sounds nice - but is imaginary'. Not to mention at this early stage I was unclear as to what they actually were and what their purpose was. Like most people with little knowledge of the topic, I assumed that if they were real, they were the stereotypical Victorian image of pretty young ladies with butterfly wings, whose only purpose was to be very small and elusive and sit about in nature doing nothing. With this in mind, I suppose it's no surprise that I was having difficulty imagining myself working with them. Don't get me wrong, I respect people who still view them this way and are able to connect with them - however, to me, that image was thoroughly far-fetched and unrelatable... meaningless.
It was only when I started to delve a little deeper and do my research (something that arguably, we all should do before judging someone's spiritual path or way of life) that I discovered the folklore behind them in different cultures, different stories, and the way they were perceived by people who interact with them today. All of a sudden, a Pandora's box in my mind was flung open. I began to understand how fairies could be just as real as deities, and just as relatable, if not more so. My view of these beings now is a hotch-potch of different perceptions predating the Victorian-era (when fairies suddenly became civilised and tamed down to the maximum). Perhaps the way I see them in my mind's eye could best be described as the creatures depicted in Brain Froud's artwork - some beautiful, some grotesque, some strange but inoffensive... as wild and unpredictable as nature itself. A far-cry from the Disney-esque images I think most of us are used to, and have trouble relating to as pagans coming at the subject from a more serious, spiritual perspective.
Long story short, I have found a way to believe in (always a good place to start) fairies, and have worked with them a little but hope to incorporate them even more into my practice. I see them now in a way that the alternative name for them, "the little people" seems more fitting. They are like us, but find us totally foreign, amusing, and daunting. They are nature personified (nature being far too large and too full of variety to be simplified into one being or spirit) and their culture is based around respect and appreciation for the natural world, of which they themselves are an important part. With this in mind it's hardly surprising that our ways are foreign to them and vice-versa, with our poor treatment on the environment.
((I have lots more to say about this, (trust me. LOTS.) but I think I'll end that first ramble on fairies there. It is likely that I will still continue to post Loki-related content, but as my interests expand and grow within paganism, I would also expect more of this type of stuff regarding fairies, other beings, or perhaps even other deities. I'm just testing the waters of different paths that will hopefully grow together to form a more complex spiritual path of mine which is ever-evolving!)) :)
Happy Imbolc guys!
Now we have reached the mid point between winter and spring, here's to hoping for increasingly bright times for us all with the brightening days! ☀️
So today I just discovered a whole lot of Omnia music I never bothered to listen to before. And why I haven't explored more of their music till now, I have no idea, because they're amazing 😂😂 Does anyone have any favourite Omnia songs/instrumentals I should listen to?

Lunar Phase:
It is also EXTREMLY important that magick spells and rituals be performed during the correct lunar phase. A “rule of thumb” to remember regarding moon phases is if your working is tailored towards receiving or gaining something, perform your spell during a waxing or full moon - if you wish to rid yourself of something, perform your spell during the waning moon - for new beginnings, the new moon phase is best. * NEW MOON (begins on the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half days after). Use the energy of the new moon for new ventures and new beginnings. Also use the new moon for love spells, job hunting, and healing. *A WAXING MOON (seven to fourteen days after the new moon) is the proper time to perform positive magick such as love spells, magick for wealth and success, courage, friendship, luck or good health. *A FULL MOON increases extrasensory perception and is the proper time to perform lunar Goddess invocations, fertility rituals and spells that increase psychic abilities and prophetic dreams. Any spellwork that requires extra energy, such as finding a new job or healing serious conditions, is best begun during the full moon. *A WANING MOON (three-and-a-half to ten-and-a-half days after the full moon) is the proper time to perform destructive magick, negative incantations, and spells that remove curses, hexes, and jinxes, end bad relationships, reverse love spells, banish negativity, break bad habits, cure addictions and decrease fevers, pains and sickness. source: (x)
Sooooo . . . . magic
I have been magic-ing my ass off this year, and I’ve made some observations. Most of these are for me, but you might be able to relate.
Sometimes you have to ask the question differently to get what you want.
Sometimes you have to settle for a tad less than what you want.
Sometimes you have to ask multiple times.
Did you know that impatience has an energy? Me neither. At least, I had never thought about it.
The Universe doesn’t actually like hearing you whine and will attempt to shut you up … that may just be me.
I’ve made several attempts to stop magic with telepathy and … no.
I’ve made attempts at performing magic with telepathy and yes.
Magic people can “smell” other magic people. The more magic you do the more fragrant you are. People also assume that you’re powerful as opposed to … .really busy.
The entities will laugh at you and go tell other entities … it’s fucking high school all over again.
Humans can be familiars and that’s weird.
If your spell fails, ffs just do it again. Spilled milk, man. We all have off days.
It’s not that big of a deal.
Always attempt to have a reversal spell on hand because … . reasons.
By reversal, I mean have a spell on hand that will cause the opposite result … not necessarily an actual reversal spell … per se.
Doing magic to fix magic is as much funny-haha as it is funny-oh-no.
Different people react differently to the same spell. If you’re flinging magic at people, you may want to keep that in mind.
You can randomly end up with astral pets, and pet thoughtforms. They’re yours be nice to them. They have feelings.
I’m hoping my next year is just as magical, if not more so. I’m looking forward to it. It’s important to look forward to things.
I wrote this a year ago. The lessons still stand. But there’s some new, too:
We really should talk about the role of forgiveness in magic practices. It’s not just a Christian precept.
You can always back away from the edge, even after you’ve jumped.
Maintenance spells are some of the most important work one can do.
Yes, your tarot cards will get tired of you asking the same question over and over and will tell you so.
When you hit rock bottom, reach for the ladder and not the jackhammer. I totally am still eyeing the jackhammer.
Watching a baby witch take their first steps is absolutely awe inspiring.
Fucking write the spell reversal while you’re writing the spell. Just … just do it.
It’s okay to ignore your inbox.
Try a new form of magic before writing it off. Make a magic swatch as it were.
People who you do not have pre-arranged agreements with will, for the most part, never tell you that they felt your magic. They will be incredibly passive aggressive about it, though.
Keep some record if not all the records. I suspect that next year, I still will suck at keeping records.
Quiet deities =/= absent deities. Don’t make them prove it. You’re not going to like it.
Small magic and frivolous magic seem to mean a lot to people. Don’t underestimate how much a small act might mean to someone.
If you recognize a lesson from the past, skip to the end and do not repeat the past.
Here’s to next year’s round of magic!
You all should feel powerful.
Because you are. With the current events in the world, the automatic response is to be fearful... To feel helpless and hopeless. But all is not lost as long as our light and persevering spirits burn bright within us, and we must remember this to regain our power.
How's everybody doing??
So, I'm back, after my very long hiatus that I offered no explanation for whatsoever... I would like to apologise to the people who sent me messages or asked me questions in the time I was away, because when I started this blog I wanted it to be a place for other lokeans and pagans to come for support and/or advice (and actually be able to receive it!!) In the time I was gone I was settling in at university, and in all the commotion I lost track of my spirituality a little... (A lot). I also got involved romantically with another person, and this person became my main focus and reason for living for a few months... However, it's reached the stage where I feel I need to rediscover myself and my own interests, A) because that's healthier and B) because I owe it to my followers here to become active again! I feel lost without my spirituality, and I know that it's dangerous to fill that void left in my life with infatuation. So, long story short, I'm back. My intuition has gone a bit rusty and so has my sense for most things metaphysical, but comments and questions from you guys would be not only welcomed but greatly appreciated, so that I can feel motivated to help myself get back on track! I love you all and have missed my community of pagans! 💖

Watercolor Stained Loki by CinderR0SE
this was a test painting from a previous older loki portrait that i repainted in a new app called sketches i got that allows me to create watercolor/ink paintings with my touch screen on my phone. i had a lot of fun playing around with this and plan on working on more full length mixed media paintings in the future. all of my paintings that weren’t digital from years ago looked similar to this so I’m really excited that i can finally get these washes with a digital format; i ended up really liking how the test turned out and wanted to share it! XD
do not remove my watermark or alter in anyway, and if reblogged elsewhere give me credit, do not remove my artists comments, and link back to my main site; thanks! ~cinder.
First artistic homage to Loki, my lovely god. ♥
This has been several days in the making since I have the most trouble with gouache. haha. Made with india ink and white gel pen as well!
Enjoy!

Aka: I wanted to draw something happy for Loki, but then this happened. For some reason it looks a bit blurry, fullsize looks better.
