Painter’s got a real bone to pick with Cubism lmao (and probably the rest of the avant-garde scene). Him reading Nietzsche to his barely 2-year-old toddler is deadass something he would typically do tbh.

Rat Queen sure has… some very interesting comments about the Painter. Other lines worth mentioning are “I nested in his emptiness”, “he looked so delicious when the flame burned him out” and “you’re mine”. Imagine the Writer hearing all that for source material and go “damn do we gotta include all that in the book?” ☠️

Crazy to think how the Writer got access to not only the Painter, but his family and the Burns siblings after her pact. Was that LEGIT the Painter’s soul warning the Writer and her son’s sake during her hallucination sequence? (I mean the one where she goes through various LoF1 and LoF2 settings while writing the Actor’s story).

Another thing I wonder is whether or not the Daughter was still around when the Writer published the Painter’s story. Was she even aware of how the novel gained so much attention and success in the end? Judging by her home decor in the Forgiving ending, I’m guessing the time setting took place around the 1950s-1960s (tho it's still unconfirmed which Inheritance ending is canon). Meanwhile, the Lighthouse’s calendar showed 1955 when the Writer made her first stay there. Honestly, I couldn’t imagine the Daughter’s reaction and emotions when her past was suddenly brought up to the public all of the sudden. If it was something she preferred to leave behind and kept privately, I think that would be very sick and fucked up on the Rat Queen’s part… wth she really isn’t gonna let this girl catch a break holy shit :’(

Speaking of the Forgiving ending, I’m actually glad they made the props a bit more historically accurate because the original one had numerous anachronisms in it :” Other than that, they kept the pills sitting right next to the TV (albeit with a different appearance), but no signs of paperwork like before, and not sure if i’m picking this up correctly but the packaging reads “somniax” or something alike???

Apparently, the Director is cooking up an adaptation film of the Painter’s story, and I heard somewhere that the Actor was set to be part of the cast again. But that would be a bit odd since the Actor’s canon fate was left uncertain (and whether or not they ever finally decided on which sibling gets to live on). According to a newspaper clipping in one of the trailers, the Actor went missing while working with the Director when they were aboard the Icarus (ship where LoF2 events took place). Fast forward ten years post-publishing the Painter's story, the Writer went back to the Lighthouse and found a film reel titled “The Vessel of Flame”, then said something along the lines of “(…) guess they ended up here after the ship sank”. So, would that mean the Actor might have survived the events of LoF2? But there were no hints nor implications of them making it back into the public eye after that (iirc).

One Rat Queen line I keep pondering about is “a weak child is to be eaten, not nurtured”, triggered when we choose to push the Musician’s wheelchair in chapter 6. Then it dawned on me that in some cases, rats would eat their newborns either due to malnutrition, stress or deformities in the babies. Connect the latter reason with the Rat Queen’s line, could that be the RQ's intention on why she took the Musician’s life first? Like ever since the department store that injured her with severe burn scars, the Rat Queen then ultimately deemed the Musician as no longer “useful” due to the loss of her talents :’(

((On a side note, I've always had this hunch that the department store fire might also be the Rat Queen pulling all the strings. Hell, color me surprised if it turns out a rat was chewing on the building's wires. BUT THEN AGAIN THAT'S JUST A WILD ASSUMPTION AHEHEH))

Did,,, did the second game implied the siblings (Lily to be exact) threw off an elderly lady off the ship??? I get that it was done out of self-defense from getting caught and initially the lady only tried to talk things out with the kids but like woah son😭

Ouuhh the thought of the Musician having relatives abroad is pretty interesting :0 and the likelyhood of LoF 1 taking place somewhere outside of the US too. Evidence of it throughout the game (LoF 2 exluded) has always been quite inconsistent imo, and it makes me question LoF's setting from time to time lol.

Also I like how the Director's DLC showed a bit of the Rat Queen's nature by how she immediately eliminated DLC Actor (different from Lily and James) from spreading word of her through his screenplay and how she drove the Director to alter the screenplay's narrative by making him work with DLC Actor's daughter (tho not sure if she was for real under RQ's influence).
