I do not have to reinvent the wheel every time I write fanfiction

I do not have to make every chapter's word count above 1,000 in order for it to be good

It is okay if some things don't make sense

I can write whatever I want

I am writing this shit for free

If people don't like my stuff, they can block me. If they're being mean about it, I can block them.

The most important part of writing fanfiction is having fun

Writing fanfiction is supposed to be fun

I do not have to appeal to people

This shit is fun

I think you also missed the part where my post was about fanfiction. A hobby. That people participate in for free. Fanfiction writers don't have to do shit if they don't want, since we don't get paid for it. If you see a stressed-out kid coloring with crayons to calm down, do you frown at them and say "Maybe try coloring within the lines next time." And, to follow, if the kid gets pissed off at you for saying this, do you put your hands up in mock-surrender and say "Sheesh, kid, don't take it all criticism as a personal attack!!" Even though they never once asked for your feedback?

People don't have to "strive for improvement" in a fun hobby that they do for free, because if you do something enough & you have fun with it, improvement will happen on its own, and it will happen in its own way. People don't have to actively try to get better at fanfiction that they write in their spare time for free if they don't want to. They can just write and have fun. That was the point of the post.

“Shane, TV remote is all the way over there. Is almost in other time zone. My arms are weak, can you get it please, Shane.”

“Shane!! Shane, I have cut from cardboard! It’s bleeding, Shane, can you do first aid? I think I need mouth to mouth, Shane, I’m fading fast!”

“Shane, I am so thirsty I think my throat is atrophied from being dry.” (Earns a “wow, atrophied, where did you learn that word?” from Shane.)

“Shane, I’m getting sick, can you rub special cream on my chest? I am losing strength, Shane, I don’t think there is much time.”

still at the hotel (maybe wanted a quiet night in to watch Deadliest Catch or something) and he got the SOS from Connors that he was needed at the club, or

he was somewhere else (another club, bar, etc.) and got the SOS to meet them there.

Enter his best friend Troy Barrett.

One day after a shitty practice, Ilya is sitting by the back exit playing with his lighter. He doesn't have a cigarette to light.

Suddenly, Troy parks himself next to him and offers him something small, plastic and cylindrical.

It's bubbles.

Troy got them from a fan a few games ago, they were just sitting in his cubby every since then and he saw people doing it online, so he felt he might as well try it.

And it works.

Now whenever one of them gets stressed they find a quiet spot and start blowing bubbles.

Of course, at some point they get photographed and it turns into a giant meme (imagine something like smoking Ben Affleck, but bubbles).

Is this how the people Ryland left behind on Earth felt? Mourning a man that no one really knew all the way through? Bits and pieces of his life lost and forgotten over the years until all that’s left is the Savior of Earth?

On the other hand, myIlya is pretty good at math. Not a math genius, but it was his favourite subject in school.

When Shane learns that Ilya has no problem doing basic equations in his head, he immediately starts using him for anything math related.

“Ilya, this recipe says to use 1/3 cups for 8 servings but I want to make 3 servings.”

“Ilya, what would a 20% tip be on this?”

“Ilya, can you look at this statement the contractor sent over? I have no idea what it’s saying.”

And Ilya grumbles and teases about Shane using him as a human calculator, but he (not so secretly) loves it.

Because as someone who’s been very dependent, for most of his adult life, on other people helping/correcting his English, math is some he understands and can help Shane with.

Though, Shane gets his fair amount of teasing in too.

Shane: Are you ready yet? We’re going to be late.

Ilya: my 9 inches is ready 😈

Shane: I thought you were suppose to be good at math…

Adrian's very fond of Rocky's weird wet space blob thing, but even the most patient Eridian can only listen to so much chewing before they lose it.

Also I gave Grace a back brace cos I figured he'd need it while getting used to Erid's gravity. Also dude's been living on nothing but taumoeba for however long which I can't imagine is nutritionally complete.
