I love breaking her, sure. but I love putting her back together just as much. brushing her hair, feeding her, tucking her in. it’s the quiet reminder that because she belongs to me, she never has to worry about a thing ever again. I’ve got her. It’s in the way I’ll pull the damp towel from her shoulders to rub her skin dry or how I’ll kneel in front of her just to guide her feet into warm socks when she’s too dazed to function. I like the weight of her head on my chest when I’m checking her over for any marks I left. my thumbs tracing the skin I claimed just hours before. whether I’m refilling her water or simply pulling her close to whisper that she did perfectly for me, it’s all the same. I’m the one who takes her to the edge, which means I’m the only one allowed to catch her. as long as she’s tucked under my wing, the rest of the world doesn't get to touch her. she’s my precious baby, all mine to care for and protect.
