Harper: Where you been ???

Liyah: Hello Harper. I’m fine, thank you. And how are?

Liyah: Keeping myself productive, per usual.

Liyah: Well, not per usual. I’m sort of finding new ways to stay busy or attempting.

Due to the fact that I’ve had a bit more free time on my hands than usual and the fact that that period is likely to come to an end soon, I’ve done a lot of exploring around the city in the past couple of weeks. And let me tell you – there are so many new, exciting places to check out that have sprung up in this period of … renewal. Many of them have caught my eye but if you’re looking for personal recommendations – Earshot Records and Coffee on Main are definitely worth.. a shot. Are there any other interesting new places I should be aware of?

My chef friend, Lalani, who gave us the cooking lesson, her restaurant has opened up. Also there is a weekly cooking class so spread the word.

Uh, quick question. How many times does a boss usually scream at you before you’re fired? I’m not used to this and… it’s starting to get kinda scary.

Why’s he or she yelling? Is this a new job for either of you?

I don’t... I don’t feel, no. but suppose flying by the seat of your underwear could be your very odd purpose.

…what does that even mean? How do you just know things? That doesn’t make sense. Can people do that?

It means that I am supposed to know myself by now. I should have this all figured out, there should be no more ‘thinking about it’. Of course. I have always known, there was always a path set out.

Right, well in the real world, we call that unemployed. Honestly though, if you want someone to talk to about it, I’m pretty aware of how hard it is.

Much more of a blank canvas. Because we didn’t want it to be something that was forced on us. I mean, I figure that now that the city is being put back together, I’ll actually have to start paying rent on it or lose it, but all of the important stuff is here anyways.

I can’t use that, so let me have this. Does that mean if I talk to you about this you’ll do the same? I don’t know Mira, work was sort of all I had, the thing I was looking forward to being my constant after all this was resolved and now, I don’t know what to do at all.

…you forreal think purpose is the only thing that defines a person? 

Yes, of course. Whatever that purpose is, family, career, charitable things.

Lady’s choice would be appropriate, wouldn’t it?

I will take that bet then, because my choices are expensive

But wouldn’t it waste more time if you went too fast and you missed something so you’d have to go back and do it over? I don’t think it’s a waste of time to think about things before we do them. What about City Hall? I saw a flyer where they’re looking for volunteers.

That’s the problem. I’m not supposed to have to think things over, I’m supposed to know. But, you’re right rushing things can cause more wasted time. City Hall could be an option.
