waiting at a bus stop in the middle of winter with their cheeks and ears bright red, trying to hold hands without anyone noticing

trying to tickle one another to death and falling onto the floor in a mess, where they end up cuddling and falling asleep

one of them blushing tomato red or adamantly avoiding eye contact every time the other shows some skin

getting into an argument and not seeing each other for weeks and they’re too stubborn to see each other again but when they do they realise how much they missed each other

So, I’ve been seeing a lot of people mishandle PTSD in their role plays, and to be honest, that’s not okay. PTSD is a complex mental illness, but it is easy enough to research and portray accurately if you’re willing to put in the time. If you’re not, kindly 86 that particular mental disorder from your character’s story. Actually, if you’re not willing to do research on any mental illness, don’t include it as part of your character’s bio.

So bear with me as I explore PTSD, specifically (as i play Lily Evans) PTSD in the Wizarding world. But much of this can still apply to non-Harry Potter role players and writers as well.
