If you see a post which tears down a specific Democratic candidate in ways designed to alienate liberal voters, please, please do research before reblogging.
The Russians are literally actually already at it again. No candidate is going to be perfect or have a perfect history. ANY of the current crop of Democratic candidates would be better than Donald Trump. A moldy piece of bread would be better than Donald Trump.Ā
Grown up people actually develop and change opinions over the years. 10 years ago, most of the US was clueless about trans rights and the idea that marriage equality* would be a thing by 2015 would have made even liberals blink at you in astonishment that such a thing would be possible so soon. And yet. People can learn better and do better. Look for what theyāre saying now, who theyāre associating with now, who theyāre trying to placate, or not, now.Ā
We have some amazingly strong and progressive candidates, more progressive, more qualified than any I can remember in my lifetime. They have not had every word ever spoken be perfect, but neither have I, neither have you, neither did Obama. Bernieās not perfect, Harris isnāt perfect, Warren isnāt perfect, Biden certainly isnāt perfect, but you know what? Iām THRILLED that Warren and Harris are running and that theyāre doing so well. And there was no candidate that Iāve seen yet who has any shot of actually winning the primary who I wouldnāt happily vote for over Trump.Ā So you want to persuade people why someone is great? Why theyād be a good choice? What theyāve done right? Go for it. Tell the world.
Donāt make Trumpās job easier.Ā
Personally, Iād be jazzed over a Warren/Harris ticket (or the other way around). I think theyād get shit done and make things better for a lot of people. I donāt need ideological perfection at this stage of the game, I need there to not be fucking concentration camps or people dying of lack of health care.Ā
