Higaki Kenta, Somsak Rattana, and Shiratori Hazuki are characters I created for separate stories within the Glass Heart Netflix fandom. Kenta is from Still Life, while Rattana and Shiratori were introduced in Hear The Clock Tick. After completing those stories, I realized that I still wanted to "hang out" with these characters for a little bit longer. My Own Crown is what emerged after thinking about what might happen if their worlds collided. I had the sense that by the end of Still Life, Kenta was a bit lost. He was struggling romantically, trying to jump-start his career, and trying to maintain friendships from an earlier period in his life. The threads of his past, present, and future seemed to be tangled in ways he couldn’t cleanly separate. I thought that speaking with Rattana-sensei might be beneficial for him.
