Every time I come on here, I'll see another 'transfeminist' with hundreds or thousands of notes, talking about a phenomenon that is supposedly unique to 'tma' people, and then I'll squint at it and its literally something transmascs have also been talking about on this site for over a year*.

The entire concept of malgendering (only being gendered one way when it can be used against you)

Invisibility messing with statistics

Being in cis men's spaces often being more dangerous than cis women's spaces as a visibly trans person

Permanent health issues because of gendered expectations growing up even if thats not the gender you identify with

Furthermore, and this is the big one you TMEs just refuse to understand: trans women are erased even in trans spaces. In the spaces that are dedicated to "trans people," you have a voice, but we still don't. You already have dedicated places where you can discuss the way transphobia impacts your lives as transmascs and TME enbies.

But in these trans spaces, transfems are still silenced and excluded. That is why it's so important that we have a place to talk about these things where TME people aren't going to talk over us. Even if we are describing a rare experience that TME trans people experience 1 for 1, we still need a place to talk about it without having you barge in and talk over us.

We have no trouble "relating to transmascs," we have trouble getting a word in edgewise, hence the need for our own spaces.

And no, none of this is new discussion. "Talking about on this site for over a year." Dude. A lot of these discussions predate the damned website. Transmen are not, have never been, and will never be the pioneers on transfeminist theory nor the experts on our experiences.

I am not saying transfems do not have unique experiences. I am saying, that there has been a phenomenon on here of trfs (a specific type of radical and very bigoted transfeminists) purposefully misconstruing, diminishing, villainising transmasc theories.

I am talking specifically about trfs (and other transandrophobic groups) who can understand the logic transmascs use to talk about our unique experiences when applying it to transfem's unique experiences but not when transmascs are talking about ours.

For example, a recent post about how 'tme trans people' cannot understand how 'tmas' are always gendered in the way that is the worst for them. they are gendered as men to keep them away from support while gendered as women (or less than) when they are being oppressed.

TRFs whole issue with transmascs talking about 'being gendered the way thats worst for us' isn't that they dont comprehend the logic, its that they think we're liars. We're hysterical. We should listen to them as they tell us what our experiences our while complaining that WE'RE the ones talking over them.
