and as of the 10th anniversary stream, toby doesnt want to "pick sides", but favours a specific dynamic; in this case, it is battenna's "complicated" dynamic

(using "complicated" to keep things brief)

and another "complicated" dynamic that exists is kralsei where we have absolutely no idea where it will go, but it's kinda just as doomed as battenna

first off, both ships share a funny bit about practicing affection on objects that visually resembles the crush

secondly, a visual of putting [ship] on screen with the direct association of pushing buddies

thirdly.

the incident

aka the fact tenna will be given away to mettaton at some point, leaving battat to cope with 2 companions (jongler and pluey)

now, think about what type of ending will happen at the end of deltarune

will we see a similar fate happen between kris and ralsei??

an ending where ralsei _cannot_ stay with kris due to darkner/lightner laws??

and kris is left to cope about it in the light world with 2 companions (susie and noelle) *insert susie going "important people like ralsei cant just disappear right?" and still trying to process ralsei is gone*

this is like my personal crack conspiracy theory/observation, but it feels like toby is making some uncanny parallels between kralsei and battenna being ships about loving someone and ultimately reaching a point where they cannot be together in the narrative (+making the dynamic questionable for extra seasoning)

and my mind could only come up with spamtenna is kinda the experience of a weed brownie; it's simply enjoyable because it's a brownie and well, any person can easily mistake a weed brownie for a normal one and like it because it tasted good

the battenna experience, however, is the equivalent of how victorians casually drank cola with the cocaine in it; it hits different from the pleasant experience of eating box-made brownies, like this ship has done unexplainable things to my brain !! TV world used to be my least fave chapter until finding out about the battat ship(s) !!
