Sirius would definitely wear studded sneakers and paint them with whatever came to his mind.

Sirius continues to wear shirts even in the summer, even if they go to the beach, or James laughs at his business-like attire in the heat. he wears different embroidered and patterned ties because it adds to his charm (that's what Remus said)

he puts a jacket on his naked body in the heat, even though he curses himself for choosing black clothes under the scorching sun.

Sirius would have worn shirts like that to the movies with Remus!

he always takes a long time to choose his shoes, but when Remus just gives him a box of new shoes, Sirius is overjoyed.

T-shirts! T-shirts! and more T-shirts! Sirius buys them by the carload, with different bright prints and different lengths. He wears them for walks in cool weather (that's the kind of guy he is, yeah). He stretches them a little to make them look casual.

the Gryffindor tie was part of his best looks, because it was a source of pride. and no matter what universe it is, he loves Gryffindor.

he wears jeans all the time. he's used to the tight fabric, so he doesn't feel the heat of the sun on it. sometimes Sirius tries to convince Remus to wear the same jeans, but Remus resists for a long time before finally giving in. for Remus, blue jeans.

he likes to wear chokers that look like collars, because Remus constantly teases him and kisses him, gently pulling him close by the metal ring.

okay but yes. nerd remus × cool-and-a-little-mean sirius (only he’s not really mean) is SO good. i love the idea that remus isn’t like soft uwu nerd, he’s the kind of nerd that’s a little inaccessible. i mean, he’s deep in his own head all the time, hyperfocused, kind of blunt without meaning to be, and if you don’t “get” his thing you just don’t get him. he’s not trying to be aloof, he just genuinely doesn’t care to perform likability, and that reads as intimidating

i can so clearly see him hunched over something obscure (some niche physics concept or an old rpg or a stupidly complicated board game) and he’ll talk about it if asked, but not in a “let me simplify this for you” way. more like, he forgets other people aren’t already on his level about it. so he’ll just go off, fast and precise and a bit sharp, and then blink when people look lost, and then go quiet again

sirius, though, is used to being the most interesting person in the room without trying. he’s had access to everything, like music lessons, sports, travel, and culture, but he never latched onto anything the way remus does. he’s good at things, effortlessly, but never consumed by them. so when he sees remus, who is so completely absorbed, so self-contained, so unimpressed by everything sirius represents… yeah, he’s done for

also i have a very specific visual of remus (chain-smoking, golden hoop in his ear, permanently a little tired-looking, indie rock in his headphones, eyes that are always somewhere else, but big and brown and magical), and i see sirius being like, outwardly still very cool, but internally he’s just wow. fully “i don’t understand half of what you’re saying but i would listen to you forever” levels of wow

and i love that sirius comes off as a little mean, and people assume he’s shallow or cruel or just another rich boy who’s never been told no. he tries to be mean to remus at the start as well, but unfortunately, with remus it never lands how he expects. remus either a) doesn’t react, b) gives it right back in a very prickly, understated way, or c) just looks at him like he’s being a bit ridiculous. he literally just goes like ? wtf whatever you posh boy, i don’t care. he doesn’t try to win sirius over, doesn’t soften himself, doesn’t play along. if anything, he’s the more cutting one. dry, a little brutal when he wants to be. and sirius is like oh. oh you’re not intimidated by me at all. oh you might actually dislike me. oh i need you to look at me again immediately

suddenly he wants to be understood by this one person who won’t even give him the time of day unless sirius actually engages properly. he starts asking questions just to keep remus talking, and remus absolutely can tell, and he’s like “you don’t actually care about this” and sirius, for once, is like “i do if you’re the one saying it”. eventually, sirius starts softening only around remus without even realizing it. his tone changes, he explains things instead of snapping, he hovers a bit, he listens. and everyone else is like ??? who is this man

remus doesn’t believe him at first, because why would he? sirius is all surface to him, tennis courts and expensive restaurants and easy charm. but then sirius keeps coming back, keeps listening, keeps trying, even when he clearly doesn’t have the background for it, and that’s when remus starts softening

romantically, i think sirius falls first but in a very physical, instinctive way. like it starts as fascination, watching remus talk, the way he barely looks at sirius, the way he gets so into something and forgets the world. then it slides into this quiet obsession with being close to him. sirius starts finding excuses to sit near him, to lean in, to ask questions just to keep remus’ attention on him a little longer

remus, on the other hand, falls hard, but it’s slower. it’s not that he doesn’t feel it, it’s just that he’s so used to being self-contained that letting someone in, especially someone like sirius, feels risky. but what gets him is the persistence, because sirius doesn’t just flirt and move on, he stays, he listens, he learns, he adapts. remus starts noticing the little things, how sirius remembers details, how he softens around him specifically, how his “mean” edge dulls into warmth. that’s what gets him, and once remus does fall, it’s deep and consuming and a little overwhelming, because he’s not used to wanting someone that much

also i’m a sucker for the idea that remus is the only one who sees how kind sirius actually is. i mean, beneath all that attitude, sirius is fiercely loyal, protective, and so, so gentle, and remus just holds that knowledge very carefully

and on the flip side, sirius is completely gone over how interesting remus is, because yeah, remus is the “nerd” but not in a boring way. he’s intelligent, observant, a little secretive, and there’s a depth there that sirius can’t immediately figure out. and that mystery has him sooo hooked
