Post movie Booker is still exiled from the friend group but he’s still best friends with them all in Animal Crossing and sometimes Joe comes over to his island just to sell turnips, steal fruit, and follow Booker around, smacking him with an insect net. It’s intensely intimate and personal for both of them.

Booker and Joe as stubby little villagers in a pastel digital world sitting side by side on a bamboo bench watching the ocean together, and you KNOW in the real world both them boys are gently crying.

so I am 300% projecting from my own relationship here but I just think it would be very funny if the elaborateness of the endearments Nicky and Joe used towards each other was directly correlated to how annoyed they were with each other, because calling someone “light of my life” when you love them is sweet, but calling someone “light of my life” when you are demanding an explanation right now for what the fuck they think they’re doing is hilarious 

I like the idea of all of them them using the original names for everyone when they’re irritated with each other too, and the more irritated they are the more names they use, like a mom using the kid’s middle name when they’re really in trouble.
