I'm not even asking for a plot-relevant left-handed character, but we see a lot of characters using main hand tools (mainly drawing, but also writing or using knives) and it'd be nice if a few of them (say, one in five) could maybe do it with their left hand. (And don't come at me about that one panel of Olruggio writing with his left hand, we also see him casting with his right, and ambidextrous is not the same as left-handed.)

Not that it wouldn't be super easy to have a somewhat plot-relevant left-handed character, given that getting the right pen is a major thing in universe, and ergonomic pens are often asymmetrical and therefore different for right-handed and left-handed people, and it would have been very easy to have a background witch mention the hassle of getting a left-handed pen, or something.

And the thing is, I'm having very conflicted feeling about this whole thing, because on one hand, as is said in the silver eve arc, it's difficult for people who don't have a specific need to realise other people have it, especially when those other people are few and/or marginalized. I don't know how left-handed people are treated in Japan, but as long as the inequalities are more subtle than 'kids getting their left hand tied to the desk so they have to write with their right', it's understandable that a right-handed person might go their whole life without realizing that the world is very much optimized for them in ways that are inconvenient to harmful for left-handed people.

I don't think anime and manga is generally more grossly misogynistic than western cartoons and comics.

I do, however, think that it would make sense for a western woman to find anime and manga crossing her "too much misogyny to bear" line more often than western cartoons and comics, simply because the shape of the misogyny is different, and it's easier to ignore things you're more used to.
