When Oliver and Jason meet under the understanding that this is Roy's partner, in all the ways, I think Jason would be sweating bullets. He's convinced himself he's unworthy of love, even though he has this massive capacity and desire for it. I believe Oliver would be uncertain about this man for Roy. They would be sitting at a kitchen table, Oliver, Roy and Jason. It's almost a funny image; these rough, intimidating men and Oliver looking almost cookie cutter next to them.

I mean, Roy has struggled with addictions and solo years. And what about Lian? Sure, Roy is an adult, but this is Oliver's granddaughter. And anyways, Jason is one of Batmans kids, isn't he? And sure, Roy skirts some grey areas, but this man is a full blown mob boss! These are the sort of thoughts that Oliver has coming to the table.

But then mid awkward conversation, Jason leans over, causally adds something to Jason's plate. Maybe he notices that Roy's coffee doesn't have cream, and he knows that Roy needs one creamer to bear drinking coffee at all. It's a quiet, domestic habit. One done without thinking, Roy still redirecting the conversation to Lian because it's the one thing they can all talk about. Jason does it with a soft glance, one of those quiet moments between them. And Oliver feels as if he walked in on something personal enough to make the man blush.
