Mr. Cowboy

Angel had periods of no sleep, especially when his life was filled with stress. He shouldn’t be that stressed, though. David’s life was just filled with the stress that came from planning a wedding. He also had to work extra hard as more events happened around Dahlia, but more importantly, he had to deal with customers and tell them that they had to find a different security team when they approached the wedding. So why did he have to be so stressed? He didn’t know. But he was getting really tired. Mentally, not physically. Physically, he was wide awake, laying down on the kitchen tiles and trying not to deal with the Californian heat. 

If someone had told him that northern California got this hot, he would’ve never moved here in the first place. Angel Chavez grew up in San Diego, where heat was not a big issue. This house, however, was a big issue. David had promised that he would get some guy to look at their air conditioning, but expenses prior to the wedding are rough. Angel hated spending more money than needed, so this was always a big dilemma. For now, they were running a window A/C, but despite how much he hated to admit it, David did like to hold him close. Don’t get Angel wrong; he loved the guy more than anything, but it’s the middle of summer! He cannot deal with a clingy, hairy man making him sweat like crazy. 

The man stares at the ceiling before he hears the padding of heavy footsteps coming into the kitchen. The light doesn’t turn on, but he hears a grunt. 

“What happened?” David asks, going over to stand by the other

“Mm… It’s so hot in our room.” Angel replies, “Tile is cold.” David hums; there’s a sniff that fills the air, and then Angel can feel eyes looking over him in the dark before his fiancé shuffles over to the fruit bowl and picks up an orange. He stabs his thumb in the center of the top, peeling back the rind of it. 

“Your blood sugar is low.” David informs

Angel looks up at him, there was a twitch of a smile on his lips before he licked his lips, "Thank you."
