Marj did as she was told. The hospital smelled like antiseptic and aftershave and half-smoked cigarettes, and it wasn't the first place she'd like to spend her first Saturday back in England - but some things were important, and visiting friends to make sure they weren't forgotten was certainly one of them.

"Please don't let this be a frog," she said flatly, absolutely serious and knowing that Bill Guarnere would be the one to do something dumb like that, even when he was supposed to be confined to a hospital bed and in no state to be hopping around outside hunting anything, frogs or otherwise.

But it made him laugh, at least, which counted for something. She'd missed that sound, in Austria, and elsewhere -  Easy just wasn't the same without it.

This is one of my favourite scene from Band of Brothers. When Spina & Doc Roe came to comfort Babe after he lost his friend ,Julian. Just to make sure he’s alright.

At first, the Germans didn’t shoot at him. I think they couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing. But that wasn’t the really astounding thing. The astounding thing was that after he hooked up with I company… He came back. BAND OF BROTHERS APPRECIATION WEEK | One scene

Day 1 - One location/scenery

Everything around here looked like it came straight out of a fairytale. All picturesque houses, snow capped mountains and green fields as far as the eye could see. It was so quiet and peaceful here that it was almost difficult to imagine that there was even a war going on, because it seemed to have missed this section of Germany entirely. The forests that they passed through were quiet and the lakes were so blue that they looked like they had come straight from a postcard. It just didn’t seem real at times.

Ron Speirs knows how to kill. Knows how to hurt, how to twist, how to maim. He doesn’t think he’s figured out how to love, not really, not where it counts the most, but the touches he reserves for Chuck Grant beg to differ..

BoB Week, Day 1: One Location/Scenery The sky glowed a warm, familiar orange.

He had seen this color before on the walls of the Met, in one of the halls where they hung the Dutch masters, just before the collection shifts sharply to feature only Van Gogh. It was their preferred color to convey the warmth of a cottage hearth, or the single candle illuminating a book after sunset.

He chuckles to himself, once, his shoulders punching up and the breath exhaling out of his nose sharply.

And now it’s Eindhoven being bombed that sets the scene that calls for only the most incendiary colors of a painter’s palette. If he weren’t a cynical man, it would have felt tragic. But he just smiles a rueful, flat smile, and turns away.
