it is a truly beautiful and haunting series that delves into the complicated relationship to Catholicism that our favorite doc roe navigates throughout the war (with flashbacks to his youth). it is endgame baberoe and let me tell you that NOTHING can prepare you for the mastery and awe-provoking writing style the author employs.

Gene feels half like he’s floating along after Babe, and half like he’s going to trip over his feet and bring them both down. But Babe is great at leading, he cues Gene into every coming move with a firm press of the hand on his back, or through the push and pull of their connected hands. If Gene just lets himself feel and not think, Babe seems to know just what to do to get their bodies moving together seamlessly. Babe, of course, helps him here as well, by chattering away. They come together, pull apart, Babe keeps things simple but dances with an undeniable flair. They keep dancing together through two more songs, and Gene catches himself smiling wide. He’s having fun.
