Energy through the roof, if she doesn't win is because someone else performs a miracle
I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about how to prepare a house/apartment/car for intense cold and snow storms, but not very many about snow management?? So here’s my certified northern maine snow accumulation tips:
-LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS, NOT YOUR BACK. This means squatting a little bit, getting your shovel under the snow, and then standing back up out of the squat. Do not bend over at the waist or back. It’s leg day, not arm day. SNOW IS WATER, AND IT IS HEAVIER THAN YOU THINK.
-if you have a car that you park outside, pull your windshield wipers so they’re up off the car. this will keep them from getting trapped by snow, or iced down
-if you park outside, you’re going to regularly want to clear off and then shovel out as much snow from on top of your car as you can. You can use a broom to push stuff off the roof if you’re not super tall
-if you park in a garage for which you are responsible, shovel along the edge of the door so it doesn’t get stuck down
-it’s much easier to do multiple small rounds of shoveling while it’s snowing than it will be to deal with all of it once the storm is over. Regularly clearing snow also makes it easier for you to leave a building if you need to
-try to shovel every 2-4 hours, based on how accumulation looks. A good metric, rather than using time, is to keep an eye on something outside (picnic table, bench, wall) so you can see how deep it’s accumulating. As soon as you catch yourself thinking “oh no that’s a lot, I don’t want to shovel it” then you HAVE to go do it right then
-remove the snow as deep as you can. If you can, get down to the stairs/porch/sidewalk surface. This will prevent packed snow from turning into ice, and give you a surface you’re familiar with walking on
-just pitch that shit on a yard/lawn
-wear workout clothes if you have them: sweats/joggers, sweatshirt, with gloves + hat. You’re going to get warm! Take them off when you come inside so they have a chance to dry off if possible
-when you are shoveling stairs, walk all the way to the bottom and then work your way back up
-trampled snow is much more difficult than fresh
-clear as wide a path as you can. Whole width of stairs/sidewalk/walkway. no matter what, you’re going to lose a couple inches of width, so make that impact as minor as possible. It’s really tempting to just clear a little path for walking, but that’s the devil who hates emergency services and the mail carrier talking and we don’t listen to him
-if there are bushes or trees you’re responsible for, try and give them a little shake when you’re outside to knock the snow off. It’ll prevent damage to the plants
-listen to a podcast or something while you work, it’ll be fun
-actually it’s really satisfying to clear all that snow away and know you’re making it easier on yourself and everyone else
YOU REALLY DO NOT WANT TO HAVE TO STRUGGLE YOUR WAY OUT IN AN EMERGENCY.
Even if your town, housing development, apartment complex, or whatever is responsible for snow removal, they may not have the infrastructure to do it *soon* or *quickly.* If you have a shovel, it is in your best interest and the best interest of those around you keep doorways/walkways/ends of driveways/sidewalks clear as much as possible. And fuck dude even if it’s not an emergency, do you really wanna be doing 12 inches of white bullshit on a Monday?
based off this text post lul :]
this goes perfectly with their other post about how to impact the metrics so much that management has to deal with it.

‘capitalism works’ factoid actually untrue. the 62 people who own half the world’s wealth are outliers and should be eaten.
Absolutely nuts how they made up a number for this satire post and the correction is that reality is *more absurd* than the number they chose
no i’m afraid it’s even worse than that. 62 was correct in 2016 when the original post was made.
People can handle evil characters(for the most part--usually they twist their behavior and water it down) but people really can't handle good characters that lose their head or lose themselves and have a moment of fallen grace. Fandom has shown this time and time again. They really look at them as worse than the initial evil.
related but tangential. there's a really strong unexamined belief throughout a lot of fandom -- and population outside of fandom, but we're talking about fandom here -- that what you do and say during your worst moments is who you really are.
And the assumptions underlying this, more or less, break down to:
Everybody is secretly bad deep down. They're born that way (no, this is not original sin, wdym, it's just an Honest and Realistic assessment of human nature!) and have to be taught to cover it up through childhood with facades of politeness. Everybody is lying all the time by pretending to be better or nicer than they really are, and this facade takes active effort to maintain. When the effort drops and the facade slips, the true underlying rottenness shows through.
All actions taken are rational and reasoned, at all times. Lying is always a deliberate, purposeful action meant to advance a person's aims and goals. There is never any reason to lie except to make yourself look good. Therefore, any good or nice statement or action may be a lie, but any bad or harmful statement or action must be true.
Ergo: anything a person (or a character) says or does when in states of emotional extremity, overwhelming grief, incapacitating pain, exhaustion, illness, head injury, is Peeling Back the Facade of Goodness to reveal the True Rottenness Underneath.
This is, of course, utter nonsense. But an amazing number of people seem to believe it.
sometimes a person who is normally sort of an asshole will, in an extreme situation, suddenly show signs of compassion, and that doesn't mean they're genuinely "good" in some "deep down" way, it means that under a lot of stress people sometimes do surprising things.
also if a character tries to be good but doesn't get very good results this means the narrative wants us to understand they were bad actually because true virtue is naturally rewarded with success, so if you act nice but then eat shit it's a sign you were a dirty useless hypocrite the whole time.
unfortunately this analysis is applied equally to supporting cast in fiction and real life politicians.
A patron came in to the library a few weeks ago looking for a copy of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". She said she wanted to replicate Peter's coat for her daughter's rabbit. Library staff found her the book thinking she meant a stuffed rabbit. But, lo and behold, it was a real rabbit! Introducing... Melvin Rabbit!

INT. CLARISSA’S APARTMENT. NIGHT.
SALLY comes into the room to find CLARISSA sitting on the side of the bed in her coat. The two women look at each other. SALLY comes round and gestures to CLARISSA to stand up. SALLY puts her hands on CLARISSA’S shoulders to help her take off the coat. As she does, CLARISSA turns and looks at SALLY, the two of them overcome. The two women look warmly at each other, then they kiss.
Just know though, that if it's adventure you seek, you could do far worse than come with me.
love these little ideology descriptions from the old za/um site that they slaughtered

Yes, I am a straight man. Yes, getting the shit beat out of me in an all-male mosh pit is an erotic experience for me. We exist
When I was in Norway at the Gojira show a guy in the pit grabbed me & said “open your mouth”
And I did
He suspected (correctly) that I was dehydrated & was judging by the color of my tongue
But I fully heard “open your mouth” & thought “wow this stranger is going to spit in my mouth”
And then, naturally, I thought “well let’s see where he’s going with this”
