hyperventalating with laughter watching the hospital scene between Shikamaru Naruto and Gaara. It's so insane Kishimoto really did that huh. Naruto punches Gaara IN THE FACE. Naruto's life long trump card of 'don't fuck with me, I'm an actual demon' that has worked off everyone from scornful civilians to fucking OROCHIMARU is met not with horror but with something impossibly worse; solidarity. Everything Gaara calls himself is a condemnation of Naruto, too. Gaara says he had a demon sealed in him before he was born, says his dad tried to kill him more times then he can count, and Shikamaru snorts and says 'wow, your dad must be an asshole' and Naruto just stares at them with a dawning horror he doesn't dare name. Gaara starts talking about how love is impossible for 'people like him'. Gaara using words like 'pampered' 'loved' 'happy' etc despite having absolutely no idea what they mean. Shikamaru is having the most insane conversation of his life, says 'what is this guy talking about?' and does NOT want to think about why naruto doesn't respond in kind. Gaara says he was born evil. Says his life isn't one worth living. naruto is actually having a fucking panic attack. Gaara just keeps talking about how much he loves killing people. Shikamaru fully thinks they are going to die. THIS IS THE BEST SHOW EVER.
