This title is read by Paul Heitsch, who has a knack for taking what might seem like it would be a dry read and transforming it into something quite interesting and enjoyable to listen to with his upbeat, yet non distracting, narration. The penultimate entry in the Reverend Curtis Black series did not disappoint! However, I always find myself wishing he would make more of an appearance in these companion novels. Looking at this pic may make you want to keep pressing that play button to get rid of the « Wheel of Annoyance », which I did eventually. 🤣 I just finished reading this memoir and I LOVED it. Laurie Halse Anderson is so transparent, warm, tough, human, raw and compelling as she recounts her experiences and provides insight into her road to writing Speak and other illuminating and necessary titles. I definitely wholeheartedly recommend it. So, I seem to have this habit of reading multiple books by the same author... 😁 I just finished Two Can Keep a Secret and I would recommend it. It’s about a pair of twins who have to live with their grandmother in town called Echo Ridge while their mother goes to rehab. When they arrive, they happen upon a mystery involving homecoming queens and murder... 😨👑 It was a good read, with some good plot twists.
