i am so proud of jannik. so, so proud. came here with the ghost of roland garros lingering, no warm-up event, all sorts of rumours and jeers following him around. came back from 1-2 in his first match, fought tooth and nail to win every single fucking match despite not playing anywhere near his usual level. despite everything. got to the semis, found his form to beat novak, and now this. comes back from a set down, gets over the mental block that would understandably affect every player in his position, fights back, finds his fucking shots, keeps at it, no matter what. and now he's a two-time wimbledon champion and deserves every bit of it.
