They Are Young Boys, Aren't They?

I promise I’m not trying to ragebait you and I actually used to ship jacknik too, but i have been wondering about them irl. I think they were both more or less going through the same journey coming up in terms of their talent and their injuries and i think that in 2024 both had that big career jump (jannik moreso than jack) but they were still on the same level. When jack hit the top 5 it really felt like finally both were where they were going to be for the next decade or so but i remember jannik acknowledging that maybe they wouldn’t practice as much anymore because now they were direct competitors. And i feel like that’s the same with injuries and physical and mental issues as well, tehy won’t really tell each other things because now they’re competition. I think that’s also when we really saw the matteo jack relationship become more apparent and you can tell that jack definitely is more comfortable sharing things with him and practicing and hanging out with him. I’m not saying that jannik and jack aren’t friends but i think it’s more like friendly professionals now where a practice is just a practice. It also sort of aligns with jannik creating a bit of a distance with his tennis friendships, like before he definitely had more players he called friends on tour and posted more about them but now he seems closer to athletes in other sports (idk this is the impression i got). Anyway, i definitely havent forgotten jacknik (august 2024-June 2025) but its likely that there wont be anymore dinner doubles or pasta dates in the future (I wouldn’t rule them out for jack and matteo though)

I know you like jannik but im sorry, you can’t tell me the draperttini Cincinnati content, their practice sessions, their social media flirting over a long period of time isn’t more compelling than the few interactions that jannik and jack have had.
