You know, if Quaritch ends up getting Varang Pregnant, it’s entirely the fault of the scientists behind the Recom program for not sterilizing the Recoms beforehand.

Like I can understand why they never sterilized the OG Avatars—no one ever even considered the possibility that any of the drivers would go native to varying degrees (or in Grace’s case, that there would be a parthenogenic birth) because why the fuck would they?

I imagine said scientists either at Bridgehead or back on Earth getting the news that “oh yeah, turns out Jake Sully had like four half-Na’vi kids since we’ve been gone with his avatar body” and the scientists in question starting to panic because Shit, they really should’ve thought that through.

(To be clear: I’m not saying that the scientists sterilizing the Recoms would’ve been a good thing (ethically it wouldn’t), I’m just saying that from a pragmatic perspective if they wanted to mitigate the chances of last time’s defection happening again they could’ve taken precautions and if it comes back to bite them they brought it on themselves)

it really pisses me off when adults sit there and drill it into kids’ heads that their youth is fleeting and tell them things like “enjoy your childhood while it lasts because this is the best it’s gonna get”. why are you telling children that adulthood is the worst thing they can experience? seriously what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you trying to make them feel like growing up is a fate worse than death? trying to convince them their life is over before it even begins? i’m tired of that shit. because tell my why my 12 year old cousin told me when she turns 30 she’ll be so depressed she’s just gonna cry all the time. what the fuck. kids don’t need to hear that their already stressful and overwhelming lives are never going to get better, that the abuse and lack of autonomy they face is apparently the highlight of their lives. they need to hear about adults who are happy to be alive and happy to have made it to their age. they need to know that growing up rules, it’s a gift and life does not have to suck for them, that they have a future that’s worth sticking around for. this rhetoric is so damaging mentally and i’m about to start hitting the adults who parrot it. i’m sorry you hate your life but you don’t get to dump your issues on these kids. don’t piss me off and leave these babies alone!

So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. I don't even have that large of boobs but every time I go down some stairs all I can think about is that stupid quote about boobing breastily down the stairs or whatever it is because God Damn.

But anime and video game boob jiggling is like. The most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen nine times out of ten. You would think people this horny about tits would have actually looked at some but I guess not.

What we really need is some pervert to compile the ultimate visual guide to boob bouncing physics that's just like 500 hours of meticulously organized videos of breasts of different size and shape and under different fabrics bouncing around from a wide variety of physical movements so horny game devs can finally get it right and I don't have to be creeped out by women who appear to have surgically implanted softballs in their chest under skin made of rubber bands.

I need you people to understand that when I was younger and saw something like, say, The Incredible Mr. Limpet or the Naboombu sequence in Bedknobs and Broomsticks, my initial thought wasn't "oh these things that are animated in 2D Ink and Paint Cell animation and are interacting with live-action people are supposed to be ostensibly real things and the only reason they're not is because these things were products of the 20th century and made before anything even remotely resembling photorealistic CGI was possible", it was "Oh, these things are purely animated beings (like the Toon "Species" from Who Framed Roger Rabbit) who are cartoons interacting with humans and NOT supposed to be anthropomorphic things."

I've realized since that yes, these things WERE supposed to be real world things interacting with other real world things and the Versimilitude hadn't been realized yet (as exemplified by the fact that the scrapped Jim Carrey Mr. Limpet Remake was more of a real-world context as well as the fact that the anthropomorphic animals in the Naboombu sequence were explicitly stated to have been descendants of animals that were granted sentience by a sorcerer).

This begs the question: Why not make the entire thing animated?

I remember seeing Superman Returns in the theaters age 10. Having never seen any of the Christopher Reeves films and only having the general pop culture osmosis of Superman on my side (seriously, I had no idea that Batman and Superman were even part of the same continuity as a kid until I saw the whole “Superman” story arc in the 2004 series The Batman), I was left feeling very confused and (regarding the whole “Lex Tortures Superman on Kryptonite Island” scene), VERY disturbed.

Having since seen both Superman the Movie and the (unfortunately bad) Richard Donner cut of Superman II…I STILL feel like I’m missing some context. I think a big thing that detracts from the film (aside from its scummy director) is the fact that this is the most comic-book time movie to ever exist; primitive camera phones co-exist alongside cars straight out of the 1940’s and old-rich opera aesthetics coexist alongside modern fashions—making for an extremely confusing aesthetic. Honestly, they would’ve been better off making it a late-70’s period piece.

I think the character who baffles me the most is Kitty Kowalski, Parker Posey’s character and Lex Luthor’s female associate. If this is supposed to be set in the same continuity as the Donner films, what happened to Eve Schumacher? I’d say WB somehow lost the rights to the character except that couldn’t be accurate because Eve is a major character in James Gunn’s Superman. The fact that Eve isn’t even given the dignity of a throwaway line about what happened to her and the film attempts to brainwash us into thinking that it’s ALWAYS been Kitty Kowalski is beyond baffling.

There’s also this atmosphere I can’t describe. The only words that come close are “insidiously banal” and “f*ck-all confusing”
