I think if the Colonel is sentimental enough to name his ikran "Cupcake"(omg, I really hope that's actually true 😭), then when it comes to bonding with his son Spider, he could've put his resourcefulness to use and gotten him some... Spider-Man socks. If they'd had more time, Quaritch definitely would've found a way to connect with his son — and I thought the idea of doing it through cool socks was kinda funny. After all, even teenagers who grew up in the jungle like cool socks, right?

Like a bear, no one can predict when Quaritch’ll pounce. His presence alone activates a prey instinct in surrounding humans, so they know not to give Spider a hard time. He’s the only person Quaritch lowers his guard around, and no one wants to take that tiny bit of good grace away.

Sci-ops making a point NOT to mention their curiosity in Spider’s biology after the incident. (A scientist got too pushy and was found lying at the bottom of the stairs next morning).

Corporate rats gushing over how much of a "heartbreaker" Spider already is at his age, but never daring to touch him, feeling murderous aura radiate from Quaritch.

Other corporate rats lamenting about how much of a lost potential Spider is and how much he could have achieved in the company if he was "normal". Spider takes that disappointment as a compliment. He’s glad he ruined these stranger’s expectations.

Crowds of arguing RDA going dead silent when Spider raises his voice.

RDA grunts gossiping about Spider’s possible rank up in the corporate ladder (will never happen but they don’t know that).

And he’s right, because no one comes looking for him until the kids at the very end.

What must’ve that looked like to Quaritch? Probably to the rest of the Recom squad as well. This kid’s not secretly making any communication with someone. He’s not telling them that they’ll regret capturing him. There’s no movement on the channels about a raid on Bridgehead or a mission to bring back Spider Socorro. And then they learn the Sullys aren’t with the Omatikaya anymore, and it all sinks in.

They left him. The na’vi, the scientists, all of them. No one’s coming to rescue this kid. No one’s thinking about rescuing this kid. There’s no plan, not even a message. He’s all alone.
