2020 marks 5 years of being vegan. Im so thankful everyday to be able to make delicious animal free foods. My most recent creation is a quesadilla burger! Great for when you don't feel like making anything extravagant.

In a perfect world we could be 100% cruelty free. But we don't live in a perfect world. That's why I'm vegan, because I want to do better. I want to reduce my contribution to the suffering and cruelty. While veganism is specifically about the animals, many vegans including myself are very invested in human rights & equality and environmental issues. So it's true, no one can be absolutely without a doubt cruelty free. But we can always aim higher. We can always look at our actions and think "Is this okay? Is this really the best way? Does this cause harm to others?"

Sorry to hear about your illness, I'm glad you're working with your doctor on it. I agree, the attitude some people have towards vegan food is frustrating to say the least. It's great that you still try to reduce your consumption of animal products even with your medical needs! Even though you aren't vegan I think you're doing so much good for the movement.
