UK based design studio, La Boca, recently lent their stylistic approach to put a new twist on an old classic. Below is their conceptual redesign for The Deer Hunter’s film poster.

The standard printed edition will initially be used in cinemas across the UK for the re-release of the movie. At the same time, Dark City Gallery will also be releasing limited screen printed versions of the poster in two different color variants. Additionally, the artwork will be used on the cover of a new Blu Ray release of the movie later in the year.

“The movie is very emotionally-charged of course, so we were keen that the artwork should attempt to focus on this, rather than the cast or the Russian Roulette scenes used previously. We hope this angle can help to present the movie to a new audience as well as those who loved it already.”

Brian Eno and Karl Hyde are no strangers to the marriage between their music and stunning visuals. For their newest album, they took that union a step further by teaming up with the creative studio Toby and Pete to bring 'Someday World' to life through an augmented reality app they named 'Eno • Hyde'.  When the user points their camera at the label in the center of the record, they activate an interactive universe that they can play along with to the sounds of Someday World.
