Honestly, I rarely see people talk about how aggressive dragon cookies are. Like how determined they are to protect their mate from another dragon that wants to be their mate even if they are already mated. Like:

Longan Dragon Cookie is all about knowledge, intelligence, strength, manipulation and body language reading skills when it comes down to conflict with another dragon that dared to come to their mate for courting. They are REALLY good at making the challenger feel uneasy and doubt themselves, manipulative speeches are involved with the skill to read body language. But their scariest traits aren't their ability to manipulate, read body language, knowledge and intelligence. It is their physical strength. Their size too is another factor to play with the prospect of being in conflict with another dragon that dares to approach a dragon already mated to them. They can foresee what to expect, which is another scary thing to consider. They aren't against using violence to ensure the safety of their mate. In other words, the most likely to sent you to Earthbread God without mercy.

Lychee Dragon Cookie is like Longan Dragon Cookie but there are some traits that they lack. They use manipulation, agility and even hypnosis on the challenger. Although the smallest of the main five, they are the most dangerous when it comes down to their mate being approached by a dragon wanting to mate with their mate. Not because they cam hypnotize but because they are the only one of the five to be all for long term torture on the challenger, give them a quick painful death and smile so creepily that begging for mercy can be heard across the entirety of Tropical Soda Islands. In other words, second most likely to send you to Earthbread God.

Pitaya Dragon Cookie would use physical strength to prove to be a suitable mate even if mated for life. Their strength is terrifying for a fruit dragon species like them, as Pitaya is of very few unheard cases of Dragonfruit species to reach such strength. And they are brutal. Not in the sense of being spared with a quick death or to live, but more of like relentlessly going at the challenger despite growing tired! In other words, the third most likely to send you to Eartbread God.

Ananas Dragon Cookie relies heavily on ego and reputation as a benevolent dragon. But when it comes down to actual conflict? They are not brutal, as they are serious about being titled as benevolent, but they will also jot be as merciful. Unlike Pitaya, challengers are more likely to be spared from a quick death and instead being shown mercy. But when they do end the challenger, it either involves their mate being in danger or if it involves their young and mate. As I said in my previous post, dragons are INCREDIBLY aggressive and territorial when it comes down to mating season and such. But that is only if the situation is dire. They have to keep their reputation after all. In other words, they are a 50/50 when it comes down to sending you to the Earthbread God.

Lotus Dragon Cookie is a tricky one because they DO have a lot of knowledge and ways to cause challengers to cower in fear and are good at manipulating them, but they rather prefer to move their partner. As a Flower Dragon, it is in their nature to rather stay away from trouble but if challenged? Do not let their calm and creepy demeanor fool you. They are just as capable of getting rid of the challenger as the others but deadlier with how they can use either cookie form or dragon form to cause the end of the reign of the challenger. In other words, they aren't the most likely to send you to Earthbread God but the chances they can are not impossibly low.

Dragons will protect their mate for life from another dragon who does not know or care if their mate is already mated by visual signs and such. That is if they have a mate.

It must have been HARD to go against the very dragon that had been nothing but kind towards them when they were going forth with destroying cookie kind and reshaping an entire island. Do you know how hard it is to fight against someone you consider kin? I think, since I am still busy catching up with CROB stories, that the story of one dragon able to foresee everything is more than just a simple gift. It is a curse. To foresee your entire species slowly go down due to fights and even cookies must have been terrifying. All they wanted was to live the life that had been promised to them, but taken away with the snap of a finger. The dragon, Longan Dragon Cookie, is suffering some kind of emotional trauma and literal flashbacks from when dragons were once on Earthbread. This can be a factor to play to their personality, why they are emotionally distant and refuse to show affection or any emotion really. This can be the motivation, the trauma can be a motivational factor to play as to why they want to bring the past into the present despite the brawls to fight for survival. It was an era where survival of the fittest and strongest was taken to another level, where you had to be aggressive and fight for survival, they grew up in that environment until their eventual slumber with their kin- I think the others also slumbered? Not too sure about that one but let's say it did happen.- only to wake up in an era where another species began to walk with no other dragons in sight!

Does it justify the actions of Longan for wanting to create mass cookie extinction? Absolutely not!

Can it be seen as reason for their actions to be taken too far? Yes!

The other dragons experience the loss of their kind differently, but I believe Longan took the most of the extinction of their species quite hard. And what if their guardians had been there? Not much is known of their past, hopefully we'll get more lore about it, but we can only theorise that the past was mostly unforgiving to those that tried to be passive.

Now I might be wrong about all of this, this is my opinion and theory with some lore I had to dig up, but maybe we will get to see Longan be convinced by Hollyberry or someone equal to their power to aid in the battle against SMC? The possibility is not high, but it isn't impossible. In the small glimpse of the trailer we got, we saw the Ebony Dragon in the background. I think that THEY will be the final boss of the entire crk timeline as we know that war against the Stone Dragons had been the main cause of the downfall of dragons. The only survivors are mostly Fruit Dragons and a single Flower Dragon, not anymore considering Snapdragon is a Flower Dragon as well from what we got from the new episode of ToF, but CROB says that the Ebony Dragon is trapped and sealed away. Is this suggesting that another war against dragonkind will resurface? Will we get to see Longan battle against the Ebony Dragon? So many questions with so little answers, so many possibilities!

I hope to see Longan fight alongside cookies against SMC, if it is for their own benefit and later betray their allies then I wouldn't mind because we get to see them in action, and then see how they fight against the Ebony Dragon!

But that's just my thoughts for what I expect would happen when Longan arrives and why I think Longan became who they are now. Remember, this is just a theory in the last part of this post! The rest are also theories, but it is all about what I observed from the way Longan acts and what little lore we were given about dragons going extinct! Not 100% accurate, but this is what I believe had played out for Longan to be, well, Longan.

Now onto Longan. Yes, they ARE the most protective when it comes down to certain things. But that is NOT towards cookies, it is towards their kin and kind. Don't get me wrong, I agree that they have some form of trauma and ptsd from seeing dragons going extinct long before it happened, but let's be honest: trauma would take YEARS to heal for them.

Cookies were technically one of many reasons for dragons to fall, hunting them and so on, which would make sense for them to grow a deep rooted hatred towards cookie kind. And Gingerbrave did not help either after literally stabbing them in the head with his cane which further proved their point of cookies needing to be erased. HOWEVER, I think it is safe to say that when it comes down to ensuring that their brethren do not meet the same fate as their fallen, I do believe that they would at least TRY to understand that not all cookies are like the ones they know. I think Hollyberry can be a good role model for them to see that she is one of the few cookies to not agree with hunting dragons IF they listen to Pitaya ramble on about their journey to get back their power.

All in all, I say Ananas is protective because after Longan fell and got another set of trauma and a sprinkle of ptsd, THEY quite literally took it upon themself to protect after seeing Longan merge the islands like it was eons ago or smt like that.

And tbh, I hc Gingerbrave to have a very protective golden dragon loom over him if he visits. Why? Well... let's just say the kid decided to go into a literal war against Longan and Pitaya had to physically prevent him from going in the ocean and it also doesn't help with him acting like a hatchling to some degree.

Basic information:

Dragons are proud creatures that never admit whether or not they have been defeated or been proven wrong. Due to their pride and honor code they have set to follow, it is difficult to know whether they show genuine interest or false interest.

Depending on species, most dragons would rather take pride in displaying brute strength as a means of intimidation or even displaying their extensive knowledge to cause enemies to fear.

Often called the Terrors of the Sky, these magnificent creatures have a terrifying elegance that make them seem graceful if light hits their scales just right.

It matters not what size these beings are, they are equally all dangerous if provoked. Entering the territory of one could spell death to any groups that dared to set foot in their domain. Those from the villages nearby always are met with physical evidence of what had happened to those that had dared to trek into the territory of the dragons.

What to avoid:

Avoid any confrontation at all costs! They aren't always merciful enough to allow their opponent to flee with their life. They are typically known to battle anything that moves or doesn't inherently belong in their territory will be met with claws and teeth. The worst time to engage is if they have a mate or when they take part in anything that allows them to prove themselves to be a worthy mate.

NEVER hurt their pride or ego! A dragon values their pride and ego a lot, it is basically considered a reputation built up from years of learning and climbing up the ranks to earn it! To disrespect or hurt their pride and ego is equivalent to being removed from the rank Commander and banished from a kingdom.

Most cookies think dragons are mindless creatures with no hint of being intelligent. Those are the cookies that immediately meet their end when encountering a dragon. They are a lot more intelligent than what cookies believe, often thinking about if battling another dragon or even cookie is a risk they are willing to take. NEVER underestimate their intelligence, they'll feel insulted for being compared to a Wyvern.

Avoid entering caves or anything that offers as a safe haven for these creatures to begin building nests for either their young or for themselves to harness power. Being near a cave is often seen as an offense rather than the fact a cookie trespassing their territory.

What to do if encountering them:

The most logical thing to do is to be completely transparent of your intentions, good or bad, for why you trespassed their territory. Don't bother to try and lie, dragons can see through your lie and will immediately take action to dispose of you if deemed a threat.

Boosting ego and pride is another way to avoid being seen as a threat, even if you are some weak cookie. Dragons do take pride in their ego and such, it would only be logical to boost it to get on their good side.

Hoarding:

Hoarding is often used to describe dragons being picky about what they deem worthy to be used in their nest or as trophies from brawls they won against enemies.

Common misconceptions are that dragons mostly hoard gold or anything that is jewelry and weapons from hunters or knights. That is absolutely not true. It varies depending on species of dragon and their personality for what they want to hoard. For example, Stone Dragons hoard anything that looks like rare stones, Fruit Dragons love to hoard anything that ranges between shiny objects to something most cookies would find meaningless or useless, Flower Dragons often do not have a hoard as they mostly grow flowers to act as their hoard, Coral Dragons hoard coral reefs while Gem Dragons often hoard incredibly rare gems. Again, it depends on species or personality.

Hoarding often means others would want to battle over their hoard, they are more aggressive if anything threatens to fight for their hoard. It often ends up being more a problem than a salutation to those that are after a bounty.

Dragons don't always hoard treasures or anything inorganic. They sometimes hoard other creatures they view as more precious than gold. It is an extremely rare type of hoarding and isn't often heard of due to this being mostly in more secluded areas like islands.

Mating behavior:

Dragons spend years looking for a mate due to preference in what they seek in a mate.

If dragons found a potential mates, they would often observe from a distance to let the potential mate know they show interest. If the potential mate does not have the traits they seek from a mate, they will immediately stop observing to go look for another to to become a potential mate.

It may take years, as mentioned above, but it is often sometimes that it takes a mere two years or instant connection upon finding a mate with the traits they seek in one.

When they have found their mate, dragons do something known as trust falls. This is where the one that had done the seeking has to prove that they will stay by their side no matter what. This is considered the ultimate test to prove their worth as a mate.

Trust falls are when two dragons interlock their talons/claws at a certain height and allow themselves to fall towards the ground. Their potential mate gets to decide when to let go, a sure way to ensure that the one that did the work of seeking them would prove they wouldn't let go until they do.

If the other does let go before the potential mate does, it is often seen as either not worthy or not ready yet depending on context.

If they don't let go until the potential mate does, that is when their "vow" is sealed forever. No turning back from there after the exercise to prove if they are suitable/worthy enough to be a mate.

Broody behavior:

Broody behavior in dragons varies due to species, but all share the same thing which is being protective and on high alert when they have young or eggs to protect.

Broody behavior can stay until their young have grown up to be able to fend for themselves.

A common misconception among broody dragons is that they always scruff their young like cats. While mostly true, some do share similar traits with crocodiles/alligators.

Trust vs Bond:

Trust:

A lot of the time, cookies mistake a bond as something like getting along with someone and trust as feeling comfortable to tell secrets to someone you are willing to tell.

To dragon, trust and bonds are completely two different things.

In some context, trust in dragons is viewed as something like allowing yourself to be vulnerable in front of someone you are willing to expose your secrets to. However, a dragon takes trust to a whole new level. Dragons are extremely exposed under their neck and INCREDIBLY sensitive on their snouts. Dragons show trust to another, mate or not, by exposing their vulnerable neck by lifting their head and if the other accepts, they'll allow being nuzzled on the snout.

Trust also plays an incredibly big role when it comes to down to some species seeking out to create a pack. It is extremely rare, but it is seen as a phenomenon among younger dragons that had just left the nest.

Bonding:

Bonding is something completely different than what cookies describe it, and it mostly happens after finding a potential mate or amongst family.

Bonding is seen as something incredibly intimate where two dragons allow their dragonstones to bind together, thus leaving the pair to be able to feel what the other feels no matter what distance. It is mostly best described as binding magic where a cookie is binded to another to ensure they keep their word but to a dragon, it is all about emotions they can feel from the other.

Bonds are INCREDIBLY strong and nearly impossible to sever.
