generally i miss football very much and since bayern has actually had a great season i would be a little mad if they really cancelled the rest of the season

BUT

1. it‘s a waste of ressources: it‘s not fair if the buli gets tested regularly but normal people only get tested if there‘s an indication that they might have corona

2. health concerns: kalou‘s video proved that at least one of the buli teams has ignored the hygiene rules such as no handshakes, no more than two people in a room and no using of the locker rooms and let‘s be real, if a bayern or bvb player had posted such a video the rest of the season would have been cancelled without much discussion

3. it takes approximately 2000 people or even more to get a bundesliga game running - you have the teams and their staff plus the bosses probably plus tv guys plus photographers plus catering plus security (and at the allianz arena you have people at every entrance of the arena and of the blocks and in the blocks and on level 0 and by the pitch etc) and that‘s way too many people in one place

4. does anyone REALLY HONESTLY think that not a single fan will show up outside the stadium? we‘ve seen it with the last game day before the break: fans were in front of the arenas celebrating and there‘s a huge infection risk

5. football is not essential. none of the clubs is actually gonna go broke when the season is cancelled. sure some might have a few problems but the DFB has a shit load of money which they should better invest into their teams and not into blackmail

6. personally i think they should have started a „test drive“ with the dfb pokal games - showing them in free tv and making sure no fans show up and no one got infected bc that would have only been two games and not 9 fucking games

7. another option would have also been to push back the start of the next bundesliga season till january, giving the dfl time to play the season till November or December which also would have solved the problem concerning the short winterbreak ahead of the qatar world cup.

so long story short it‘s the wrong thing to do. if you ask me (and i‘m at least more of an expert than the general population bc i took immunobiology last semester) it‘s all coming way too soon. We will probably experience a second wave of infection here in germany and it will not be pretty - the bundesliga will be the least of our worries.
