フードコート( T )🍜
Just trying to eat one bowl of udon in peace.
A new Gonzo print I will be selling at my pride event this weekend!
I love this silly little whatever and decided he needed a print!
I think it was a good choice to omit Fan entirely from Muppet Christmas Carol. Maybe it's because this was my first Christmas Carol, but the line, "Nephew Fred, his only living relative," has a lot more mystery and implication in its statement than going into it, and it’s never fully resolved by the end of the film. By the family's absence, Scrooge rebuilding a family with those around him feels altogether warmer, especially when all we see of his childhood is marked by profound loneliness.
There’s also some weird Freudian implications in Scrooge's two key relationships in the original, which like anything Freudian is best left to one side. Scrooge's one positive familial connection is with his sister, who dies in childbirth and we never see the father. His relationship with Belle ends because of his greed, leading to her having a family with another man, which is often omitted from adaptations, which I’m 50-50 on. It is a "This could've been you," but it also puts Scrooge in a proverbial cuck chair.
We also never see Fred's father, and adaptations are scarce to feature him. Some adaptations put the burden on Scrooge to become his father figure, but his reconciliation with Fred in the Muppet film is as part of a montage; guy's living his own life, doesn't need a second father. The emphasis is on creating a found family with the people around him rather than reconnecting with family. And you know what? Good choice.
extremely funny to me that Kermit the Frog is the only main overlap character between Sesame Street and The Muppets. imagine your day job is hanging out in a community of lovely people that genuinely just want to help kids learn and care about everyone so so much and then your night job is the reason that you have to stay up to date on your rabies AND tetanus vaccine
at noon the giant you're hanging out with is Big Bird! a wonderful fellow who likes reading stories and singing and telling fun facts! at midnight there's a giant named Sweetums who makes you feel like you're being hunted for sport
Ernie, trying to maybe come out to Kermit: well you know Kermit, me and Bert-
Bert: Bert and I
Ernie: Bert and I, we've been best friends forever, but we're also something else too!
Kermit, who every goddamn night has to tell Beaker and Bunsen to keep it professional, deal with Statler and Waldorf's bullshit, AND update his organizational chart on Dr. Teeth and the Electric Polycule: that's really great to hear fellas, happy for you two! :)
@melyzard's tags!
#kermit knows gonzo #no one on sesame street will ever upset him

The Muppet Christmas Carol is now considered a holiday classic and probably one of the best of the Muppets’ filmography, but when you look at it, it is such a departure from all the previous Muppet media. It’s much darker- both in terms of tone and color palette. There’s no celebrity cameos. A human is the central character instead of one of the Muppets. There are many new Muppets instead of relying on regular Muppets for some of the roles and some the Muppets are in roles you wouldn’t expect.
A lot of this makes much more sense with the context that this is the first Muppet project after Jim Henson’s sudden death and Muppeteer Richard Hunt was incredibly sick due to complications from AIDS that he was unable to participate (he would die during production). It’s a film created by a lot of people actively in the grieving process. You can feel that grief in scenes like the ones in the Cratchit home. It also explains why certain Muppets appear and some don’t. They really only use Jim and Richard’s characters when they have to. You can’t have a Muppet movie without Kermit, so Kermit is in. Statler and Waldorf are both perfect for Jacob Marley, so they both had to be recast because they were performed by Richard and Jim (which makes the fact they are ghosts kind of sad). Beaker is one of Richard’s characters and because you can’t have Bunsen without Beaker, Beaker was recast. Of Jim’s other major characters, Dr. Teeth and Rowlf are present but silent and the Swedish Chef has a more active cameo. Of Richard’s regular characters, only Janice is present. Scooter and Sweetums are not in the film. Frank Oz was busy with other jobs, so he really only does his main four of Miss Piggy, Animal, Fozzie, and Sam the Eagle. Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, and Jerry Nelson did a lot of the main characters, except the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Future. Jerry Nelson did the face puppeteering and voice of the Ghost of Christmas Present. I think it speaks to Jerry Juhl’s skill as a writer that he was able to not only adapt to these casting considerations, but also write one of the most faithful adaptations of A Christmas Carol.
What do you mean one of The Backrooms was directed by a teenager!? They gave a multimillion dollar contract to a teenager to make a movie!?
My artwork for the Legend of Korra concert!
i have a suggestion
Fun Fact: Mama K also thinks you fucking rock! Fun Fact #2: Mama K gives free hugs to everyone regardless of orientation or identity. All you have to do is ask.

It brings me no end of joy that a Disney released theatrical Star Wars movie (which is basically DLC for a disney plus show but that's another conversation) is getting smoked in its second weekend by two low to mid budget horror movies made by first time directors in their 20s given basically blank check creative control. Things are looking good for the movies these days
Pipes!!
Quick lil rough drawing of Pipes :3 My boi did not deserve what happened to him
As a reminder that just because you have a hyperfixation doesn’t mean you know everything about it, nor have any competency in your interest. That came into focus when I discovered Pipes's character profile.
He's a war criminal! He uses corrosive gas in battle! Those are what his big arm cannons are for: he’s a spraying Decepticons with chemical weapons! How has Optimus never taken him aside and gone, "Hey, you're just escalating things; Shockwave's probably gonna build a corrosive gas weapon now."
Also, he’s a pack rat. He’s got a junk museum in the corner of Metroplex, where he stores all the useless Earth junk he finds. Fucker's a Junkion at heart. I only liked him because of his personality in the show, the two times he was on it. He just seemed so salt of the earth and work a day, a normal person.
Normal people don’t make their signature weapon a corrosive gas gun and make a junk museum in their spare time!
And for the record, I only found this out because buy his Kingdom toy made me wonder what his character profile looked like. This is a month or two ago, and I started liking Pipes when I first watched the original series about sixteen years ago. I've been living a lie!
don't make me tap the sign again
family portrait
Edit: sadly i was informed that the ref was an AI image i feel so cheated what the fuck man i hate it here o(-(

Rest in peace, Anthony Head. For the Buffy fans, you were Giles; for the Merlin fans, you were Uther. For me, you were the best part of both.
I'm a firm Miranda and Shepard shipper, but Liara was my first Mass Effect love, and I've always loved the idea of lots of little blue children
