almost every famous piece of gay popular media is about males. They have their bars, clubs, spaces - and I'm really happy for them, don't get me wrong!

it's just a bit ironic that the whole camp/drag culture is essentially about who is the best impersonator when it comes to imitating a sexist caricature of a woman, while we can't even have our own exclusive parties or bars.

only a few years ago I was able to watch stuff like rupaul's drag race or listen to music made by drag queens, now I feel like interacting with something so uncanny that it makes my skin crawl. no, you're not a cunty bitchy fishy feminine queen, you're a 40yo misogynist

we are everywhere and nowhere at the same time, everyone loves to imitate us, use our oppression and suffering as a costume, but it's so fucking unfair, because what do we get out of it? not even an ounce of respect

So when there's something bad that possibly might happen, a shitton of moids comes out of the woods and starts producing thinkpieces amounting to "the worst thing already happened! We can't do anything! There's no hope!"

For example, when EU parliament started discussing chat control, twitter timeline was full of men posting something like this: "chat control just passed! They will be reading all of our messages now! It's the end of the privacy!!!111!!!"

Guess what gyns. It did not pass, it was voted down twice.

This doomposting contains specific elements:

X bad thing just happened! (It didn't happen yet)

We can't do anything about it! (We can do something)

Even trying to do anything is pointless! (Trying to do something is crucial, actually)

Our actions will have no effect! (They will have an effect) / Actions will make everything even worse! (No they won't)

I saw the same happening with various other causes and things, for example:

"there's no point in using glaze and nightshade to protect your drawings and pictures, because ai is already trained"

"there's no point in going to vote because voting changes nothing"

"signing petitions makes no sense because lawmakers will ignore it!"

"you shouldn't take self defense classes because you will only anger your rapist/attacker more and he will hurt you worse"

This is language meant to make us feel powerless, sad, and sap away all our will to act.

Context for other users:

On the morning of April 7, 2026, a fire was started at the Kimberly-Clark Distribution Center in Ontario, California. It escalated to a six-alarm fire and took nearly twelve hours to extinguish. The facility was completely destroyed and declared a "total loss". There were no injuries or deaths. An employee who was working in the warehouse is accused of arson.

No injuries. No deaths. This was a protest fire. This is why unions are important, to prevent frustrations like these, to ensure people are paid enough to live.
