currently watching Paris is burning and I can't shake off the feeling of being... robbed, as a lesbian woman, I mean.
almost every famous piece of gay popular media is about males. They have their bars, clubs, spaces - and I'm really happy for them, don't get me wrong!
it's just a bit ironic that the whole camp/drag culture is essentially about who is the best impersonator when it comes to imitating a sexist caricature of a woman, while we can't even have our own exclusive parties or bars.
only a few years ago I was able to watch stuff like rupaul's drag race or listen to music made by drag queens, now I feel like interacting with something so uncanny that it makes my skin crawl. no, you're not a cunty bitchy fishy feminine queen, you're a 40yo misogynist
we are everywhere and nowhere at the same time, everyone loves to imitate us, use our oppression and suffering as a costume, but it's so fucking unfair, because what do we get out of it? not even an ounce of respect
here's a quote from one of their songs, enjoy
i fucking despise drag so much
Claire Klarewicz-Okser — She Sees Herself Who Sees Herself (oil on canvas, 1987)
"As a result of the expansion of the British silver industry in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, the middle class could afford useful household objects of silver for the first time.
The silver market, formerly governed by the needs and taste of the aristocracy and the Crown, now started to respond to the preferences of a wider clientele. The demand for simple spoons, cups, and dishes was met by increasing numbers of competent artisans. It was no longer necessary for all silversmiths to be capable of producing impressive ecclesiastical or royal presentation wares.
Many shops began to specialize in one or two types of silver. To meet the even-growing market, wives and other female relatives of a master silversmith were pressed into service—frequently into the more routine jobs, such as engraving and polishing. Widows of silversmiths with such experience found that they were able to continue running shops with the help of journeymen or partners.
A few women were even accepted as apprentices, artisans, and entrepreneurs in their own right. While most women continued to enter the craft in association with fathers, husbands, brothers, or sons, it became unnecessary to indicate such affiliation by the shape of their mark.
To compete in the silver trade successfully, women silversmiths had to maintain the same high standards of craft and awareness of fashion as their male peers. A few shops continued to accept royal and sacred commissions for exceptional silver, demanding the highest degree of artistic achievement. Most silversmiths, however, including a number of talented women, joined the ranks of those producing the quantities of attractive, stylish, functional silverware that has delighted households, collectors, and curators for the past two centuries."

One extremely insidious doomerist tactic practiced by men is especially grating to me.
So when there's something bad that possibly might happen, a shitton of moids comes out of the woods and starts producing thinkpieces amounting to "the worst thing already happened! We can't do anything! There's no hope!"
For example, when EU parliament started discussing chat control, twitter timeline was full of men posting something like this: "chat control just passed! They will be reading all of our messages now! It's the end of the privacy!!!111!!!"
Guess what gyns. It did not pass, it was voted down twice.
This doomposting contains specific elements:
X bad thing just happened! (It didn't happen yet)
We can't do anything about it! (We can do something)
Even trying to do anything is pointless! (Trying to do something is crucial, actually)
Our actions will have no effect! (They will have an effect) / Actions will make everything even worse! (No they won't)
I saw the same happening with various other causes and things, for example:
"there's no point in using glaze and nightshade to protect your drawings and pictures, because ai is already trained"
"there's no point in going to vote because voting changes nothing"
"signing petitions makes no sense because lawmakers will ignore it!"
"you shouldn't take self defense classes because you will only anger your rapist/attacker more and he will hurt you worse"
This is language meant to make us feel powerless, sad, and sap away all our will to act.
Next time you see some tweet, comment or post constructed to make you feel bad, small, powerless and useless, ask yourself: why did someone wrote this? Why do they want me to feel like this? What is their goal by posting this?
The timing of this post on my dash was almost scary. A few minutes ago, my flatmate (a guy in his mid 30s) in regards to the rise os fascist discourse and following a conversation about Iran and the North American military aggressions, literally said something along the lines of “there’s no point in doing anything now, we’ll just have to wait until it gets much worse and then much better”.
He added that he’ll just keep on living his life (which can be summed to a corporate job, smoking joints and playing video games). IT DRIVES ME INSANE!! This guy has never ever even been to a protest and he’s speaking as if he’s an old man who gave up on fighting after losing his entire family to the nazis or something. Bear in mind he doesn’t profit in any way from things getting worse, he’s just your regular working class guy. Being around men is so fucking exhausting.

I read somewhere that "When you choose a life partner you're choosing your eating companion for about 20,000 meals, your travel companion for about 70 vacations, your retirement friend, career therapist, & someone whose day you'll hear about 18,000 times" and I really can't stress this enough.
Tumblr is a fate driven website. You can't find posts through the search function, you see them when you're meant to.
it's always "did you really need to burn down your workplace to prove a point" and never "how was the revenge arson? did you have fun doing revenge arson? were the flames pretty?"
🔥🔥🔥
Context for other users:
On the morning of April 7, 2026, a fire was started at the Kimberly-Clark Distribution Center in Ontario, California. It escalated to a six-alarm fire and took nearly twelve hours to extinguish. The facility was completely destroyed and declared a "total loss". There were no injuries or deaths. An employee who was working in the warehouse is accused of arson.
Authorities stated that the employee had shared videos of himself starting the fire on Facebook, saying "all you had to do was pay us enough to live" and "there goes your inventory" while lighting pallets of toilet paper ablaze.
ALL YOU HAD TO DO WAS PAY US ENOUGH TO LIVE
No injuries. No deaths. This was a protest fire. This is why unions are important, to prevent frustrations like these, to ensure people are paid enough to live.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
God I hope something comes of this
hey, so, how was the revenge arson? were the flames pretty?
Shocker: Male is mad that women talk about women’s rights
Not to mention that "I'll never need to know anything about birth control or use it" despite the fact that male birth control is constantly in development and research, but he wouldn't know that. Because the consequences of knowing nothing about birth control is pregnancy, and he can't get pregnant, so he doesn't give a shit.
omfg this is why we don’t want them in our spaces! not only do they not relate, they get angry at us and blame us for the fact that they can’t relate to the hardships inflicted on us.
