having thought about it this is a generationally anti-consumer announcement that will have a profoundly detrimental impact on consumers and retail markets. this will price out new consumers even more than a $600 PS5 and $80 games will. this will make games less accessible and more nickel-and-dimed. this will make games impossible to share irl without giving your console up, and will stop institutions like libraries from being able to loan copies of modern games. and most importantly, it will be for a minimal profit, as most of the sales in video games are already digital.

this is such a staggeringly catastrophic piece of news that i'm shocked it wasn't said by nintendo. congrats to sony for one-upping them in anti-consumer practices.

Okay, first I was really annoyed at people missing the point of iwtv's unreliable narrators and immediately saying that everyone from Louis's pov is a lie and Lestat tells the truth as if that diva is any more reliable, but actually that just proves the point. The beautiful thing is that both Louis' and Lestat's stories are from their individual perspectives and as we all know memory is a bitch and both of them have their own motivation to lie to us as the audience and people just accepting the newest tale as truth just highlights how easy people are to accept anything as factual and how people yearn for an objective truth. People are sooooo willing to let the tale seduce them and it doesn't need vampiric control or anything, it just needs charisma and a good story and people accept it. They don't even need to go that far into their gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss routine. Lestat says something didn't happen so obviously it didn't happen, it's not as if the whole series is highlighting the odyssey of recollection again and again
