Remember when on Obi Wan’s thirteenth birthday he was sad because he thought Qui Gon forgot, and then Qui Gon is like “of course, I didn’t forget your birthday! Here’s this cool rock I found.” And Obi Wan is like “uh…thanks 🥲”

And then later in the book he gets kidnapped and memory wiped but it doesn’t work because the rock has powers and keeps him tethered.

And then once they reunite Obi Wan is like “golly gee, that force sensitive rock you gave me saved my life!” And Qui Gon is like “oh. Cool. I just thought it was a neat rock.”

obi-wan would not be a good dad not like on purpose but because biological ties r soooo foreign to him like he grew up in a culture where raising children is communal and nobody is related to u and u can pick and choose your family. having a kid like completely breaks that cause now u have a small sentient being who u r literally REQUIRED to take care of and is your family forever whether u like it or not so obi-wan's like, probably gonna pawn his kid off to his friends or something
